Kroll Background America

In the early days of Kroll's history, Jules Kroll recruited his own mother to perform surveillance for an investigation. The 61 year-old Florence Kroll trailed the subject for two days through the back roads of Westchester County, New York in her red Mercury.

At the world's leading risk consulting company, we find innovative solutions -- and valued employees -- where other companies don't think to look.

What else would you expect from an expert in investigations and technology? In the 1990's, we gained worldwide renown for locating assets hidden by Saddam Hussein. The following decade we recovered lost data from a battered hard drive that crashed to earth aboard the space shuttle Columbia.

Today, Kroll relies on its diverse roster of more than 3,800 global employees to carry on this legacy. Fostering an inclusive environment in which all our employees know that they have an opportunity to grow and succeed is critical to our ongoing success.

Our employees come from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds. They are some of the most experienced and forward-thinking experts in litigation, technology, forensic accounting, jury consulting, business intelligence, investigations, background screening and security.

Headquartered in New York with offices in more than 65 cities in over 33 countries, Kroll is a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (NYSE: MMC), the global professional services firm and Fortune 500 company. We help clients reduce risks, solve problems and capitalize on opportunities. Our multidisciplinary teams:

  • investigate fraud

  • gather electronic evidence

  • track down embezzled assets

  • recover lost data

  • screen job candidates

  • assess security programs

  • research business intelligence

  • analyze financial controls

  • fight identity theft

We serve a global clientele of law firms, financial institutions, multinational corporations, middle-market companies, academic institutions, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and high net-worth individuals.

Since Kroll's founding in 1972, corporate responsibility and public service have played a key role in our business. Our original mission was to advise clients on how to make more effective and honest purchasing decisions. Today, our business has grown significantly, but integrity, accountability and leadership remain among our core values.

Kroll is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
