This is the introduction from Zane's book "Love is Never Painless". I love her books. Really Really good book. Check it out. Have you ever felt like you have done everything conceivable to make a relationship work and there is nothing but drama anyway? Have you ever loved someone more than life itself, but they disvalue that love? Have you ever sacrificed something for another, only to have them not appreciate your generosity? All of us, as we all have feelings, have experienced something like this. Life is strange. So many people cross our paths during our predetermined amount of years on earth. Many of them will be in our life from day one to the final hour. Many will come into our lives later and hang in there until the very end. Then there are the "other ones." People who are only in our lives for a minute, a day, a week, a month, a year, or a few years. We cannot understand how the relationships with them can start out seemingly perfect and end in total madness. I know that from personal experience. I have been hurt by those who claimed to love me. It was disappointing, but it does not mean that I will ever give up on finding the right one. There is a man out there who complements me on every level, who can appreciate what I have to offer more than he craves his next high, who can mirror my ambitions with his own, who can uplift me instead of trying to hold me back. Meanwhile and between while, I have children to raise, challenges to meet, and history to make. 26 Dec 07 I do not do IM on blackplanet. If you would like to chat please send me a note. 2 Nov 07 I want to give props to the men that are TCB like Judge Joe Brown says.. Taking Care of Business. Real men take care of the children they created. How can a guy (I can't call them men) plant a seed and don't water or fertilze it. How can you live with yourself. How can you lay your head down, put food in your mouth, buy an outfit for yourself not knowing if your child has the same. How can you be in a relationship and take care of another guys child but don't make an attempt to take care of yours. The cycle has got to stop!!!! Your daughter is going to date a guy who shows the same level of commitment and respect you model. Your son is going to treat their girlfriends or wives the same way you treat yours. Children are so precious. Its a beautiful thing watching them grow up knowing you are helping them to become an adult or like my daughter say grown folk. Its crazy when deadbeats come and try to be in there life after the hard work is done. Children knows who is there for them. Just because you promise to visit, promise to buy shoes, an outfit, you call every blue moon to say hi doesn't mean a thing to them. Being consistent is the key to a child heart. It's not the parent taking care of them job to help you help your child to remember you. You not helping the parent with the full time job of taking care of them remember them. I can go on and on about this subject cause its crazy to me. It's sad.... To be called a man is a respect you earn not given. 8 Oct 07 If you know anything about motorcycles please let me know. My bike needs some work on it and I can use some help.. Thanks 1 Dec 2006 Today is AIDS Awareness Day. Even though they dedicated a day for AIDS, we need to be aware of this everyday. AIDS is rising in the black community. Everybody has their reason why but there is only one reason I believe, people are not protecting themselves. To my sisters, if this is the first time you are sleeping with him and he doesn't want to wear protection run. It doesn't mean he loves anymore because he wants to sleep with you without protection. If that is true that means he loves every women he sleeps with. To my brothers if she is okay with sleeping with you without protection run because you are not the only brother she will sleep with without protection. My advise to everyone is don't get caught up in the moment think of the consequences before you lay with anyone. 18 Oct 2006 I enjoy reading peoples page and the pics that some guys have on there page is nice. Keep showing off what you have. What I am tired of seeing is people complaining about what other people have on their page. If someone wants to say what they like and dislike let them. If someone wants to say they are bi (and no I'm not) let them. Who are you to say that person is a lesbian. If someone screen name doesnt match their picture, just be glad they have a pic and someone must thinks it does. Just because you don't think so doesn't mean it don't. I wish that my soulmate will be sent to me and not another lesson to learn... You should ask yourself this one question would you date yourself. People have so many expectations but don`t realize the problem is within. Don`t forget to hit the spot and sign the guestbook and I would do the same... Some words to remember.... "No one falls in love by choice, it is by CHANCE. No one stays in love by chance, it is by WORK. And no one falls out of love by chance, it is by CHOICE" Holding on and hanging in there may not necessarily be signs of great strength, however there are timeswhen ittakes much more strength to know when to let go and then do it . They apply to both Love and Life To My Friends Who Are SINGLE Love is like a butterfly . The more you chase it , the more it eludes you. But ifyou just let it fly, itwill come to you when you least expect it. Love can make you happy but often it hurts , but love`s only special when you give it to someone who is really worth it. Sotake your time and choose the best. To My Friends Who Are NOT SO SINGLE Love isn`t about becoming somebody else`s "perfect person." It`s about finding someone who helps you become the best person you can be. To My Friends Who Are PLAYBOY/GIRL TYPE Never say "I love you" if you don`t care. Never talk about feelings if they aren`t there. Never touch a life if you mean to break a heart . Never look in the eye when all you do is lie. The cruelest thing a guy can do to a girl is to let her fall in love when he doesn`t intend tocatch her fall and it works both ways... To My Friends Who Are MARRIED Love is not about "it`s your fault", but "I`m sorry." Not "where are you", but "I`m right here." Not "how could you", but "I understand." Not "I wish you were", but "I`m thankful you are." To My Friends Who Are ENGAGED The true measure of compatibility is not the years spent together but how good you are for each other. To My Friends Who Are HEARTBROKEN Heartbreaks last as long as you want and cut as deep as you allow them to go. The challenge is not how to survive heartbreaks but to learn from them . To My Friends Who Are NAIVE How to be in love: Fall but don`t stumble, be consistent but not too persistent, share and never be unfair, understand and try not to demand, and get hurt but never keep the pain. To My Friends Who Are POSSESSIVE It breaks your heart to see the one you love happy withsomeoneelse but it`s more painful to know that the one you love is unhappy with you. To My Friends Who Are AFRAID TO CONFESS Love hurts when you break up with someone. It hurts even more when someone breaks up withyou. But love hurts the mostwhen the person you love has no idea how you feel. To My Friends Who Are STILL HOLDING ON A sad thing about life is when you meet someone and fall in love, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and that you have wasted years on someone who wasn`t worth it. If he isn`t worth it now he`s not going to be worth it a year or 10 years from now. Let go..... TO ALL MY FRIENDS... My wish for you is a man/women whose love is honest, strong, mature , never-changing, uplifting, protective, encouraging, rewarding and unselfish. "For every ending there`s a new beginning; for every memory there`s a dream ahead." When talking to a lady please refrain from using profanity.
