Recommend this profile to your Facebook friends. personal messageKaCee a.k.a. Kisha Green always had a wild imagination. As a child she discovered that putting pen to paper, the elaborate stories she made up could be shared with the world. After entering a high school essay contest for a coveted spot in the Nashville Minority Journalism Workshop her passion for writing opened up a wealth of opportunities. Her work appeared frequently in The Tennessean newspaper at the age of seventeen. KaCee went on to receive more than a dozen national and regional writing awards in less than two years and received several awards, certificates, and accolades for published writing from The Tennessean, 92.1 WQQK-FM, Leadership Nashville, the National Library of Poetry, Clark Atlanta University, Western Kentucky University, and Middle Tennessee State University School of Mass Communication. She was awarded Most Outstanding Writer by the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund Annual Writer's Competition. A graduate of Clark Atlanta University, KaCee's many talents have taken her career to a variety of places. She's been a freelance copywriter, a public relations coordinator, and a development specialist. In 1996 her creative talents lead her to the non-profit world where she has served as a development researcher, grant writer, and fundraising consultant for Vanderbilt University, Meharry Medical College, Georgia Tech and a variety of charities. KaCee also produced and hosted a weekly spoken word event, "Eargasms", in Nashville in the late 1990s. The show ran for two years, and drew poets from all over the country. Her articles have appeared in Atlanta Tribune: The Magazine, The Tennessean, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Crossroads News, and divinecaroline.com. She is also the author of a new 'zine, Hot Chocolate, the blogs thekaceechronicles.blogspot.co m and raisingisaiah.blogspot.com; and editor of two children's books Howard Be Thy Name and The Magic Lunchbox. She recently completed a screenplay adaptation of the novel Secret Lives of the Wives (SLOW) by former NFL player Corey Harris. She is currently writing her first novel, THE CALICO WOMEN. Ms. Green lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her son. Check out the preview screening of my new series, Boulevard West: photos (0)
