UPDATE APRIL 2005
scenario #1
imagine you are a parent, and your child is locked in a room. in this room with your child, are individuals who want your baby to die. they`d like her to suffer. imagine that you are locked outside unable to bring the child you raised food or water to sustain her life. instead, as a loving parent, you have to wait outside for her to die. and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. rest in peace, terri schiavo.

scenario #2
imagine you want to loose weight. so, you go to your friend who happens to be a doctor who can prescribe you the right medicine to help you accomplish your goals. you know, without a doubt, that your friend would not jeopardize your health. imagine, you take your prescription because you just want to get in shape. then, out of the blue, you are summoned to court and questioned on whether or not you took cocaine. the pill you took, contained cocaine which is not legal. you could loose everything. maybe even go to jail. barry bonds trusted his trainer. now he looks like the bad guy.

UPDATED JUNE 2004.
As we celebrate the passing of another memorial day and enjoy the long awaited memorial to WWII veterans, here is a quote that illustrates the ironey in which african american soldiers endured while fighting for the united states of america.
"The world`s greatest democracy fought the world`s greatest racist with a segregated army" (Ambrose, Citizen Soldier).

UPDATED APRIL 2004.
Joke of the month:
George W. Bush is so dumb. he thought the U.N. was a two-word
question.
"You in?"
"Naw nugga, i`m out, Bee-ouch!!!"

UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2003.

september is almost over already? where have i been? i know. i`ve
been engrossed in my favorite past-time, any and everything football.
oh well, here`s what i`ve found out in september.

1. i guess i`ll start with my main man, g.w. on last week, g.w.
finally after all those launched smart bombs, soldiers being sniped,
and a few bin laden tapes later, admitted there`s no link between
iraq and al kada ( that`s how he pronounces it ). however, he did
say there was a direct link between the u.s. failling economy and his
more than `gifted` iq ( see #2 from july update for the definition of
`gifted`). which leads me to believe that this is one brother
who did not benefit from his affirmative action aducation he got
from yale.

2. speaking of affirmative action, did ya`ll here what these little
bastards from the young texas conservatives did at smu? they had
a bake sale. but not just any ol`bake sale. to demonstrate just how awful affirmative action is in this country, these boys and girls used a pricing plan based on race and gender. for example, white males
were charged one dollar and black males were charged twenty-five
cents for their lil nasty a$$ cookies. i get so tired of the
majority saying that a-a is nothing but reverse discrimination.so!!!
who cares!!! every policy, law, amendment and anything elsethat
dictates our behaviour is in place to correct sh!tty tactics like not
awarding promotions to blacks who slaved years in steal mills, auto
plants, and other manufacturing type jobs throughout the twentieth
century. if we haven`t been wronged so much and for so long, then we wouldn`t need a-a. all you people against a-a really don`t get it. i mean if we can`t get our reperations checks, at least give my people the opportunity to earn a bigger pay check.

DISCLAIMER: it`s not that i don`t like white people in particular or
those that think they are white. but i do despise those that do not
have an open mind and a compassionate heart. i adore all people. i do not like racist whether they be black or white or whatever. i try to have an open mind upon meeting people and let their behaviour dictate how i ultimately see them. and i really don`t feel sorry for those marks at smu either. why? because they only
made a buck fity.

UPDATED AUGUST 2003.

i have absolutely no idea what direction i`m headed this month.
so, if it looks like i`m going off the deep end. please, please,
please just throw mea life preserve.

1. i want my check!!! i don`t mean paycheck. nor do i mean my crazy
check. i want my reparations check. right now. i am getting
really agitated at the fact that every single person in this
country, that`s 100%, have gotten tax refund checks. if it`s that
easy, then what`s the hold up. mind you that`s not a bad thing. i
got one the first time, but not this go `round. so, it would seem, since gw is feeling generous, why not help out the brothers and sisters with a lil somethin`. now, the argument is that is doesn`t make sense to give money to only a select group of people mainly b/c it would be very difficult to determine the who and the how to compensate those individuals.( this is about to get really long ) this county is notorious for doing lots of things in the past that "don`t make sense" today. don`t believe me? here are a few examples. number one, did you know that they used to sell, trade, andeven buy us like we were free agents? seriously, they used to do that. number two, did you know that in some places you had to actually go all the way to the very back of the bus if you wanted a seat. i couldn`t believe it either. and
even when we already had the right to vote, they still had to pass a
voting rights act that prevented those people who didn`t want us to
vote to discontinue their acts of not allowing us to vote when the
darn constitution already gave us that right. why would you need a law to enforce another law? i don`t know. but it made sense to
somebody. now, as we look back at some of the transgressions of the
past, a lot of it `don`t` make sense. here is my take on how our
government can issue reparation checks. the who: well back in the
day, you were considered black if you were one quarter black. that was simple. i didn`t make it up. they did. the what: stop taking
federal income tax out of my freakin check and anyone else that`s one quarter black. does that idea make sense? i thought so.

2. i really didn`t wanna talk about gw this month. but this guy is like a walking bill board of material. two weeks ago, gw said something i couldn`t really believe at one of his oh too few press conferences. so, being the forgiving man i am, i let it go. but guess what, he did it again while he was hanging out at his
ranch in crawford, tx. i know you`re probably asking what did he
say. i`m not making this up. you can do a search on this in yahoo or
google. this man actually blames the MEDIA for the downward spiral
our economy is now in. he`s saying that the media had no business
reporting the message that `we are going to get those soma b!itches who did this to us no matter how long it takes`. gw himself is the one who kept perpetrating this idea to us not the media. he even got congress to grant him, the almighty gw,the powerto wage war as HE saw fit. you tell me, who`s really to blame for this media frenzy.if you don`t want the media to repeat what you say or report on what you do, then don`t run for president. i think we finally have a winner for for most `gifted` president of all time.

3.last one, are standardized test really culturally biased? are they? a lot of minorities say, `yes they are biased`. but tell me this, is the Pythagorean theorem biased? is learning where to put a
period to illustrate a complete thought biased to anyone? is knowing that humans breath oxygen and plants breath carbon dioxide
biased to anyone? no, learning is not culturally biased. it`s not
like they have questions on the test like: what do you put on your eggs for breakfast: (a) ketchup (b)hot sauce or (c)salsa. i know i`d get this question wrong `cause i put syrup on my eggs. it`s a shame we don`t want our kids to learn. instead we want everybody else to dumb down to what we don`t want to know. standardized test measure what you have learned, what you need to work on, and what to expect when you go to college. don`t be afraid of a freakin test. it`s a test. it won`t bite you. if you take your studies seriously, then you won`t have to be so defensive about what`s on the test. however, we should all be concerned if a question like: what is the name of tupac`s new cd? shows up on a standardized test. if that happens, then we got serious issues.

UPDATED July 2003.

this month i`ll update my page with observations of current events.
hopefully, my viewpoints will give those checking out my page an insight to what i`m thinking.

1. it is looking bad for kobe. when i first heard this, i thought it
was just an accusation. but as i have gotten older, i have realized
not to put anything past anybody. so, i knew it was a possibility he
could have done what he was accused of. i felt it was bad for kobe
when i read a report on espn.com later on that day thatkobe was
escorted to a local hospital around 2 in the morning by police officers
to give adna sample. i knew this situation was alot worse when he
admitted just this past friday to actually doing the do with the 19
year old accuser. what can we all learn from this? no matter what it is you are doing, be discreet.

2. i like to use a term to describe really smart people who make really dumb decisions. that term is `gifted`. for example, i don`t
profess to be the smartest man in the world, but i`m not the one leading an entire country. amen? on the otherhand, our president is very `gifted`. he actually used the phrase `darn good` to describe faulty intelligence he tried to sell us in his most recent state of the union address. `darn good`? how about trustworthy or well researched. anything but `darn good`. come on g.w., mike tyson
has a broader vocabulary than you. geez!!!

3. speaking of which, i`m sure this number is incorrect by now, but i
heard on msnbc about a week or so ago that it was costing us, taxpayers, $50 billion to maintain u.s. forces in iraq. now, that is
alot of money. and i have a suggestion for anyone who wants to
listen to what we can do with `that much money`. why don`t we take 1/50th, $1 billion, of that figure and send the entire class of 2003 to an institution of higher education. i know this is really farfetched, but they still expect us to believe iraq has weapons of mass destruction. yeah right!!!

4. finally, nfl training camps open this week. and not a moment too
soon. quite frankly, i like nascar. no, seriously i do. but,
after awhile, that stuff gets really, really old. and my sunday`s need a lot more substance. i just don`t understand why that sport is so popular. but, if you think about it, it prob explains how we ended up with such a `gifted` man for president.

The music I`m feeling now:
anything by maxwell - submerge, sweet lady, drown deep, everything on his latest cd
carl thomas - come to me, summer rain
brian mcknight - you, marile, his latest cd is on point
mint condition - so fine, my dear
busta rhymes - pass the courvoisier which happens to be my favorite alcoholic beverage served with a splash of peach shnapps.
the old temptations - justmyimagination, cloud nine
christion - come to me, full of smoke
oh, i like to listen to frank sinatra while i`m making dinner.

and finally, my all time favorite, 2pac shakur. it would be an injusticeto him for me to name only twoor three songs. all of his music is awork of art. rest in peace my brother.

A book I`d recommend: the autobiography of malcolm x,
any book by richard wright ( i.e. black boy, the outsider ),
disappearing acts by terry mcmillan.

My Favorite Movie period: malcolm x.
My next favorite move: gladiator.
My favorite movie series: sta
