ASHANTI"S BLESSING Thruough GOD from a Mother Who Cared
Hello bp. I am a advocate for sickle cell. I have a daughter named Ashanti. She was born with sickle cell anemia. When she turned 1 years old, she started having complications. Her hands,arms, legs and stomach would be chronically swollen. Her limbs at times would look like balloons. They were tender to the touch and she would turn pale white in a matter of hours or become jaundice. Ashanti would have a loss of appetite, no endurance, and very irritated. Her stomach often became huge and swollen because she would have blood trapped in her spleen. This would lead to a another problem constipation. She would have fevers and infections due to climate change. Ashanti was always tired and just wanted to sleep. Doctors would administer blood transfusions because her blood count was low. Ashanti was far from living a normal life and I tried to find people who sufferd like my daughter so I could be more prepared as this disease progress.I never got the answers I was looking for. Not even from her doctor. They gave me books and papers to read. I still did not understand why they could not answer my questions. She was in and out of the hospital. The worse was to watch her cry a cry like no other. She would scream and cry til their was no more tears and docters would drug her to sleep. This would not stop the pain, just make her drowsey. I would ask the doctor questions like why is her stomach swollen? How come she is jaundice? I could not watch her suffer day in and day out. I was over-whelmed angry, confused, tired, I even began to build a personal relationship with God asking for a better way of life for my daughter. "WHY ME?!". I decide to take matters in my own hands. As far as I was concerend with the doctor, I began to study medical books on how blood works in the human body. I traced the history of sickle cell disease. I studied herbs and addressed each herb to the complication she was having according to what the doctors where saying. As she went in and out of the hospital, I used one herb at a time to make sure it did what I studied it would do. I tried to feed her fresh herbs instead but she was unable to consume the amount her body needed in a day. Ashanti needed it so I had to give it to her in a supplement form. I saved up money and had a manufactor put all the ingredients that she needed daily in a pill form. (These were the dryed up herbs pressed and bonded together with a liquide. Pressed into a pill form.) Over time she had less and less problems an began to live a life almost like everyone else. She is so happy and full of joy. She still has some pain once in a while. All of her other problems are under control. She is my world. I love her very much and maybe one day she will understand the relentless time and effort I put into saving her life while raising 3 other childen. I was told this goal would never be
