A Good Black Woman

A good Black Woman is proud of herself. She respects herself and others.

She is aware of who she is. She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, or does she expect them to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs. A good black woman is hopeful.

She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true. She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated. If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears. A good black woman has a dash of inspiration, a dabble of endurance.

She knows that she will, at times, have to inspire others to reach the potential God gave them. A good black woman knows her past, understands her present and moves toward the future. A good black woman knows God. She knows that with God the world is her playground, but without God she will just be played.

A good black woman does not live in fear of the future because of her past. Instead, she understands that her life experiences are merely lessons, meant to bring her closer to self knowledge and unconditional self love.

Behind the Color Blind

I hope when you look at me you see black a little bit, for when you say you see me how can that really be when part of who I am is my ethnicity?

I like my hair, my skin tone, I like my heritage; It influences my art enriches how I live. I like your hair and color and even your eyes too, one of my favorite hues is that lovely shade of blue.

But I wouldn't want to be you, I like myself just fine, and don't want you to be me; we'll both get there in time. I know you like Scott Joplin, and I love a Bernstein score, I love good gumbo and pot pies, one flavor'd be a bore.

When we escape these bodies, and meet at heaven's gate, then we can say no color, We'll have nothing to debate. We'll be at peace in truth, and understand all things, but until then let's be real...

Enjoy what difference brings! And until that day in glory when we are truly one, let's love ourselves in color, not pretend that we see none. Consider what it means, to love without condition, it means to see all sides of me, yet love is your decision.

To be high but lay down low, and love beyond yourself is the best way to love others, and have spiritual wealth. But to claim you see no color, and smile like all is fine is to say you don't see wholely and if so, we see you're blind.

The Black Mother

Where can I find love that never changes Smiles that are true and always just the same, Caring not how the fierce tempest rages, Willing ever to shield my honored name? This I find at home, only with Mother, Who cares for me with patient tenderness; She from every human pain would rather Save me, and drink the dregs of bitterness. If on life's way I happen to flounder, My true thoughts should be of Mother dear, She is the rock that ne'er rifts asunder, The cry of her child, be it far or near. This is love wonderful beyond compare; It is God's choicest gift to mortal man; You, who know Mother, in this thought must share, For, she, of all, is Angel of your Clan. My Mother is black, loveliest of all; Yes, she is as pure as the new made morn; Her song of glee is a clear rythmic call To these arms of love to which I was born. I shall never forget you, sweet Mother, Where'er in life I may happen to roam; Thou shalt always be the Fairy Charmer To turn my dearest thoughts to things at home.

ONLY A BLACK WOMAN

Can take a week of left over scraps and make a gourmet meal Can cuss a man out, then make love to him that night and make him feel like a king. Can wear a burgundy French roll, 3 inch heels and a split up her thigh to work and make it look professional

ONLY A BLACK WOMAN

Can wear the hell out of spandex Can raise a doctor, a world class athlete and an A+ student in an environment deemed by society as dysfunctional, broken underprivileged And disenfranchised. Can heat a whole house in the winter without help from the gas company. Can go from the boardroom to the block and "keep it real" in both places. Can slap the taste out of your mouth.

ONLY A BLACK WOMAN

Can put a Black man and his non-Black date on pins and needles just by walking into the room. Can live below poverty level and yet set fashion trends Can fight two struggles everyday and make it look easy Can make a child happy on Christmas day even if he didn't get a thing Can be admired and fantasized about by men of other races Can be 75 years old and look 45.

The Black Woman

Black queen of beauty, thou hast given color to the world! Among other women thou art royal and the fairest! Like the brightest of jewels in the regal diadem, Shin'st thou, Goddess of Africa, Nature's purest emblem!

Because in thine eyes are virtue's steady and holy mark, As we see in no other, clothed in silk or fine linen, From ancient Venus, the Goddess, to mythical Helen. When Africa stood at the head of the elder nations, The Gods used to travel from foreign lands to look at thee: On couch of costly Eastern materials, all perfumed, Reclined thee, as in thy path flow'rs were strewn- sweetest that bloomed.

Thy transcendent marvelous beauty made the whole world mad, Bringing Solomon to tears as he viewed thy comeliness; Anthony and the elder Caesars wept at thy royal feet, Preferring death than to leave thy presence, their foes to meet. You, in all ages, have attracted the adoring world, And caused many a bloody banner to be unfurled: You have sat upon exalted and lofty eminence, To see a world fight in your ancient African defense.

Today you have been dethroned, through the weakness of your men, While, in frenzy, those who of yore craved your smiles and your hand- Those who were all monsters and could not with love approach you- Have insulted your pride and now attack your good virtue. Because of disunion you became mother of the world, Giving tinge of robust color to five continents, Making a greater world of millions of colored races, Whose claim to beauty is reflected through our black faces.

From the handsome Indian to European brunette, There is a claim for that credit of their sunny beauty That no one can e'er to take from thee, 0 Queen of all women Who have borne trials and troubles and racial burden. Once more we shall, in Africa, fight and conquer for you, Restoring the pearly crown that proud Queen Sheba did wear: Yea, it may mean blood, it may mean death; but still we shall fight, Bearing our banners to Vict'ry, men of Afric's might.

Superior Angels look like you in Heaven above, For thou art fairest, queen of the seasons, queen of our love: No condition shall make us ever in life desert thee, Sweet Goddess of the ever green land and placid blue sea

THE MAN OF MY DREAMS

I like a man that can make me smile

I like a man that does not act like a child

I like my man tall as the eye can see

A man that does not mind satisfying me

I like a man with a great sense of humor and personality to follow

I like a man that is proportioned just right But not to hard to swallow

A man that is gentle by touch Assertive to my needs Easy going and understanding Never hard to please

A man with great conversation That can always keep it real That is not afraid to be himself And tell me how he feels

That is the man that I dream of Only to be viewed in my dreams

Because a man of that caliber is hard to come by It seems.

What If I Am A Black Woman?

Is it a disease? Well, if it is, I sure hope its catching Because they need to pour it into a bottle, label it, and sprinkle it All over the people men and women who Ever loved or cried, worked or died For any one of us.

So...What if I am a Black woman? Is it a crime? Arrest me!

Because I'm strong, but I'm gentle, I'm smart, but I'm learning, I'm loving, but I'm hateful.

And I like to work because I like to eat and feed and clothe and house Me, mine and yours and everybody's, Like I've been doing for the past 300 years.

What if I am a Black woman? Is it insane? Commit me!! Because I want Happiness, not tears; Truths not lies; Pleasure not pain; Sunshine not rain; A man not a child!

What if I am a Black woman? Is it a sin? Pray for me! And pray for you too, If you don't like women of color because we are... Midnight Black, Chestnut Brown, Honey Bronzed, Chocolate Covered, Cocoa Dipped, Big Lipped, Big Breasted, and BEAUTIFUL all at the same time!

So what if I am a Black Woman? Does it bother you that much because I want a man who wants me... Loves me and trusts me, and respects me And gives me everything because I give him everything back, PLUS!!

What if I am a Black woman? I've got rights, same as you! I have worked for them, died for them, played and laid for them, On every plantation from Alabama to Boston and Back! What if I am a Black woman?

I love me, and I want you to love me too, But I am as I've always been, Near you, close to you, beside you, strong giving, loving, For over 300 years, Your Black woman...Love me!

This woman knows her worth

My worth is unmentionable; you cannot put a price on me Apache and black sister with God's love to proclaim.

Light skinned sista with light colored eyes. Oh yes we come in different colors, in shapes, and size.

A very proud black woman, a true artifact of class. You couldn't't rate me with a dirty coin. A dime piece?!!! PLEASE I will surely pass.

I love and fear God, there's no shame in my game. Wont was a second ignoring a man calling me baby, ma, or shorty... My mother already gave me a name.

You Cant determine my being a woman from the wiggle in my behind, But do it by how I respect people whether they're cripple, crazy, or blind.

For Jesus is love and he surely loves you and me. And for that I love myself...I hope there are a few more sistas out there like me.

THE BLACK WOMAN

From the sands of EGYPT you rose Coffee and carmel coated From your head to your toes Made of mud with perfect curvatures

No need for clothes Naturally strong hair Full lips and nose

The CREATOR made you for a reason And you were made FIRST As a guardian of this planet To watch over the Universe To be in touch with nature

To, at times, exercise your wrath Lying your head in Ethiopia While in the Nile, taking a bath It is you and only your power

Plus strength alone That can bring order to this planet And make a many atone So stand up BLACK WOMAN Shake the shackles from your mind

Wash the process from your hair For, that's not what makes you fine You need not powder your face Nor place fake nails upon your hands

There's no need to dress in skimpy outfits For, that pleases not , the TRUE BLACK MAN GET YOUR MIND TOGETHER STAND TALL, FIERCE AND PROUD REBUKE THE COLONIZER AND HIS WAYS LIFT YOUR HEAD UP TO THE CLOUDS

Dance those dances, chant those chants Let your eyes fill with that gleam Bring justice to your Ancestors souls Who fought so hard against the so-called "AMERICAN DREAM" And together me and you, side by side Shall put an end to all the chaos and start winning By re-aligning ourselves with nature and the animals Just as we were in the very beginning...

EverLasting

THE FLAME IN YOUR EYE IS FILLED WITH DESIRE THE LUST OF YOUR BODY,

THE HEAT OF A FIRE TO WRAP YOU IN MY ARMS AND HOLD YOU NEAR

TO CALM YOUR SOUL AND HAVE NO FEAR

YOU'LL ONLY HAVE PLEASURE AND FEEL NO PAIN

TO WALK HAND IN HAND IN THE POURING RAIN

LOVE MEANS NOTHING UNLESS ITS MEANT MY TIME WITH YOU,

IS ALWAYS WELL SPENT, TO GROW AND PROSPER THROUGH OUT OUR TIME,

TO LOVE AND CHERISH IS MY BIGGEST CRIME.

DON'T EVER LOOK BACK FOR I'M ALWAYS HERE.

MY BODY MAYBE GONE, BUT MY HEART IS NEAR.

IF I'M FORSAKEN AND YOUR FULL OF SHAME MY HEART WON'T SWAY

IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME I HOPE I'LL ALWAYS BE YOUR ONE AND ONLY..

NEVER TO DEPART AND END UP LONELY

TO ALWAYS END UP FROM WHERE WE CAME.

FOR MY LOVE WILL BURN IN AN ETERNAL FLAME.

You Cant Understand

Yes I need all the strength that I can get.

Obesessing over you is what I cant see fit.

Understanding is what I really am trying not to forget.

Caring for you is a crime I see.

And loving you is another, you best believe.

Nothing I do for you is right, and everything I do is wrong.

Telling you I love you is a mission I cant do alone.

Utter disobedience is all I ever do compared to what you do.

Not getting to the point is something that leaves me so blue.

Dangerously walking on egg shells around you it seems.

Editing my life, like its a real bad movie.

Remembering all the good times we shared.

Standing here at these paths that will lead me to know where.

Taking my life and willing myself to care.

And nothing really seems to matter any more.

Not even now because you are walking out the door.

Damn you will never understand!!!!

Voice of Love

SPEAK TO ME, BUT ONLY WHEN IT'S SWEET.

SOOTH ME WHEN I'M FEELING STRONG OR WHEN I'M FEELING WEAK.

GIVE ME REST WHEN I AM TIRED. ON OUR SOFT, I WILL SLEEP.

WHILE I AM SLEEP, I OFTEN HERE YOUR SEXY VOICE IN MY SUBCONSCIENCE. IN YOUR VOICE MY MIND IS LOST IN.

YOUR VOICE IS SOMETHING OF INTOXICATION. AND YOU ARE MY INFACTUATION.

WHEN I SEE YOU, I SEE MYSELF. FINDING YOU IS LIKE NEWLY FOUND WEALTH.

YOU ARE MY HEALTH, WHICH I TAKE GOOD CARE OF. AND WITH YOU, I'M HAPPY TO BE IN LOVE.

WHEN I HAVE A PROBLEM YOU ARE MY SOLUTION.

IN MY HEART YOU ARE THE OPPOSITE FROM POLUTION.

IN MY EARS I HEAR YOU WHISPER. AND IT IS YOU THAT I LIVE FOR.

AND WHEN I HEAR YOUR VOICE SAY "I LOVE YOU"........

I KNOW THAT I AM NUMBER ONE IN YOUR LIFE AND NOT NUMBER TWO.

YOU HAVE THAT "VOICE OF LOVE"

MY PASSION

My passion for you burns deep within my soul.

You are more precious to me than any silver or gold.

My passion for you fuels my fire. You give my heart a burning desire.

Your touch is soft and tender. Your every caress makes my body surrender.

You bring me to my passions a feeling deep within. As you plant your sensual lips upon my skin.

You touch my soul with passion with ever sweet kiss. Bringing our passion beyond a heated bliss. Your body lies next to me, and is pressed closely against mind.

We get lost in the ecstasy leaving the world behind. I need you like I need air to breathe. You fuse in my heart a passionate love that no one can conceive.

We entwine ourselves in ecstasy of every condition. Feeling our passion rise in every love making position. Our ecstasy flows giving such pleasure. As we wrap ourselves in this love we share.

Passionately we kiss as our bodies move rhythmic like a dance. I find myself in a paralyzing trance. A sensational rush passed through my body making my hair stand up on end.

Our passions, our desires, our lusts races through our bodies again and again. I could make love to you all night long. It feels so good, it feels so strong.

The weight of your body collapse on top of me. I wish this night could last forever this night of ecstasy. Still hot in burning desire We grow like an amber of fire.

I wish this night would never come to an end. But it is well worth the wait to receive this gift again.

Distant Love

My life has been so empty for so long, no one to love or call my own.

I patiently waited for that time to come, To share this special with someone.

Until you came from the mist, unexpectedly, Taking me as I am and accepting me.

You filled the emptiness that laid inside, releasing me form my bitterness and pride.

We shared endless moments together, questioning if the feelings were true, Not realizing how fast time had flew.

The time had come for me to part and go away, The words goodbye I had refused to say.

I am now miles away from the one I love, things are so different, but your still all I think of.

A day seems like year and a month feels like forever, I think about the times we spent, and THAT I will always treasure.

Your soft brown eyes that made me shy away, your cute little smile that brightened my day. Your gentle touch that gave me chills, and your whole body in itself that gave me thrills.

I'll wait patiently until we can touch again, but i am now more satisfied because you are more than just my friend.

To bring back those moments, and to finally see your smile, And hope that things will remain the same for a while. My feelings for you are now stronger than before, and your love is something I will not ignore.

See now, a part of you has grown in me, I love you always and forever it will be.

Black Man is my brother, an ally in war.

Black Man was my lover, but not anymore. In action flicks, the black man's always the first to die, But in relationships, the black man's always the first to lie. I got tired, for he didn't recognise my pain and strife. My children he sired, but he never learned to value life.Black Man is my brother, wings on which to soar. Black Man was my lover, but not anymore. For when we swam, he tried to drown me. And when I sang, he wouldn't let them crown me. The love he claimed, didn't heal but hurt me. The one he blamed, I felt forever unworthy.

Black Man is my brother, and for that I love him even more. Black Man was my lover, but not anymore. He still and always has my respect, no doubt. Yet still, from my love, he expects a way out. In me he never dreams he could find that which he seeks. I shudder to think what that means, left feeling helpless and bleak.

Black Man is my brother, a comrade in war. Black Man was my lover, but that seems not to work anymore. Because the black man's love evolves by the hour. He understands love, but perceives it as power. The power he has been denied, and grew up having never known, But maybe if he'd tried, he'd have realised he's not alone.

Black Man is my brother, with potential to be so much more. Black Man was my lover, how I long for that once more. The glory days, when black kings revered their queens. The magic ways, black love made things not as bad as they seemed. We didn't have to look to the "man", to tell us what we can't and can. It didn't hurt to give a damn, and Black Man never feared to be a man.

That 1 Man

Why is it so hard To get over a man This is 1 question

That I just don't understand

Why is that 1 man Always special to you

Why does that 1 man hurt you

By the things that he do Is it love

Or is it lust To say you love him

Yet with a lack of trust If it isn't love

Why does it hurt so bad

Why does that 1 man

Make you feel so sad

You always think

That it's meant to be

But he always hurt you

And set your heart free

You can't be with someone else

Because it is he that you desire

You then feel hurt and ashamed

To discover that he's a liar

"Girl you know I love you Heaven knows I do"

Listening to every lie he tells

Because you had no clue

Love is the reason why

You can't get over that 1 man

This is 1 question That I now understand

COLOURS

I walk through, bright and sunny it is I stay, embracing the warmth within Bright colors flashing right in front of me

Beautiful they are What an eye catching painting I could make Blue, red, yellow, white, pink, green

They all symbolize how I feel Black and grey I covered my painting with A bleak doorway opened, I stayed, hopeless What am I to do, who am I, what now?

Another door opened, white, purple and pink Colors flashed right in front of my eyes I smiled; I walked in and absorbed them I am short of red, yellow colors

But am content with the most important one, WHITE

How do you make love, to a Black Woman?

How do you make love to a Black Woman, Romantically and Patiently; Take the time to make love to her mind. Fulfill all of her midnight wishes. Cover her entire body with soft wet kisses. Tell her, so that she will know! There's no place on her body your tongue won't go. And, when you love a Black Woman, you love her real slow. How do you make love, to a Black Woman? How do you make love to a Black Woman,

Passionately and Sincerely; Let her Sweetness become your Weakness. Do not use just the Penis, But include your ear. Listen to the sweet sound of her moans and see what you hear. Feel the warmth and care of her loving embrace. Place your mouth on hers and savor the taste. How do you make love, to a Black Woman?

How do you make love to a Black Woman, Sensually and Honestly; Say what you mean and mean what you say. Tell her that you love her, more and more with each passing day. Let all of the fantasies that dance in her head. Become her moonlight reality when it's time to go to bed. Kiss and lick all over her body until you find all her right spots. Touch and caress her soft skin and make her real hot. Mutual satisfaction is a lover's plan. Love her, cause you are in love with her. She's your Woman and your her Man. How do you make love, to a Black Woman?

How do you make love to a Black Woman, Lovingly and completely; Love her until her "Screams of Passion" are all you that hear. Suck on her neck and stick your tongue in her ear. Hold her soft round %#&@$! in the palm of your hands. Let her sexual wishes become your loving commands. Love your Black Woman with your Mind, Body and Soul. She's the most precious gift on this Earth. She's worth her weight in gold. How do you make love to a Black Woman? There's only one true way to start. To make love to a Black Woman, just give her your Heart.

Making Love

I close my eyes

I welcome you into my space

My body tingles with excitement

I'm yearning for your embrace

Feeling your touch

I release a soft moan

You caress my body I'm in a zone

I open my eyes I kiss your lips

You stroke my back I move my hips

Can you feel my heat Our bodies entwined

I begin to tremble As we slow grind In my ocean

You find my treasure Swimming so deep

Oh what a pleasure Kiss my body Suckle my breast

This love you give me Is the best

My moans grow loud I'm about to let go

I arch my back My juices flow

Rainbows and butterflies That's all I can see

I feel like I'm in heaven When you make love to me
