The Dynamic Duo, Ike Love and Kontact have established themselves as two of the most popular hosts on the Detroit hip-hop scene. They are on-air radio personalities on Detroit's Hot 102.7 (Radio One) every Saturday and Sunday from 2am to 6am. The infamous duo first started to gain momentum through their independent promotion company In the Mix Entertainment with partners Ali, Gee Q, and Jay from the Buff, which started as a retail merchandising booth in Fairlane Mall (Dearborn, MI). Through this venue, In the Mix gained a reputation for selling the hottest mix-tapes and CD's by DJ's across the globe and put many local artists on the map! The first event they organized and hosted ended up being one of the largest hip hop parties in Detroit featuring Rocafella/Def Jam artist DJ Clue along with 30 of Detroit's hottest DJ's. The Dynamic Duo has taken hosting to another level with their powerful and charismatic chemistry and instinctive ability to get on the mic and keep audiences energized. Ike Love and Kontact took their retail success and forged into a new direction to become the pioneers and original hosts of Detroit's most highly esteemed Open Mic nights at Lush Lounge (and subsequently Alvin's Night Club). This event caught Detroit by storm after being featured in the Source Magazine, "Beef 3" DVD (also seen on BET), Metro Times, Real Detroit, and on local radio and television stations. The In the Mix Open Mic events quickly secured a place in Detroit hip-hop history hosting regular appearances from numerous national recording artists including the likes of Eminem, D12, Slum Village, Obie Trice, Royce the 5-9, J. Dilla, Trick Trick, Boss, and many of Detroit's hottest underground MC's. This led to them to produce, direct, and host the "Mic Club" DVD which was a documentary about this highly publicized event. Their catchy chants and explosive energy has spread their names like wild fire throughout the city. In addition to the weekly Open Mic's, Ike love and Kontact have been summoned to host numerous shows and parties throughout the Detroit area. They were special guest hosts on Comcast 71's "The Smiley Show" (hosted by Hot 102.7's Smiley) where they excited TV audiences with their clever and dynamic personalities. Over time, Ike Love and Kontact have become "the hosts with the most" as associated with Detroit's hip hop scene and plans to take radio the new heights.
