First of all and most importantly, let me say that I am not here to get hooked up. I would like to network with others and try to market my book. Even though my main objective is to network, I do hope to meet many new people, make many new friends, and maybe entice people to want to check out my new romance novel. Now, I would like to share a little bit about myself to help break the ice and to help you to get to know me. I'm a spiritual person who loves God, enjoys cooking, independent and strong-willed (but do enjoy a man stepping to the plate when he is suppose to and needs to), and I have a compassionate nature. I'm a sentimental romantic who loves and craves to be number one in my mate's life. I would want him to be for real and can love me for me, (every 6 foot and 1 inch of me). I enjoy being romanced with flowers and all that goes with romancing someone. I use to be extremely shy, but I've made great strives to overcome it. Being shy was like a handicap for me because it was preventing me from achieving many things in life. Now ---- about my new book. I am also a first time published author and my new novel came out July 2006. It's titled "Two Loves, One Heart" and it's a romance novel. My new book is available through authorhouse.com and through major retail bookstores worldwide such as Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Books-a-Million, Borders, etc. My book can be ordered through these bookstores online too. Below is a synopsis of my book: Domestic violence is an all-too-common occurrence in today's society, and wreaks havoc on the emotional and physical wellbeing of its victims. In my new novel, Two Loves, One Heart (now available through AuthorHouse), I tried to bring these emotions to life in the story of a young, ambitious woman who must choose between her first love turned abusive and an old friendship that develops into a passionate romance. A synopsis of my book follows: Lynnette Thomas is a beautiful and passionate young woman from Atlanta who has firm plans for her life. She dreams about marrying her childhood sweetheart, Billy Matthews, launching a career in business administration and raising a family. Lynnette's plans start out well as she and Billy get married and move to Charleston, S.C., to begin their life together. They are the perfect couple for a while, until Billy becomes extremely possessive and demanding of Lynnette. He starts using drugs, alienates her from her friends and ambitions and emotionally and physically abuses her. Billy ends up abandoning Lynnette while she is pregnant, leaving her feeling ashamed, hurt and alone. At her lowest point a long-lost childhood friend, Steve Montgomery, re-enters her life. Steve was a nerd in high school who loved Lynnette from afar, but is now a dashing, successful lawyer and sweeps Lynnette off her feet in a dazzling romance. Though both Steve and Lynnette are a little frightened by the new, unfamiliar feelings between them, they join together in a happy marriage. Their new life together flourishes until Billy resurfaces after a 10 year absence looking for a fresh start with Lynnette. Lynnette must decide whether to continue her life with Steve or give her first love a second chance. Who will she choose? Anyone who has ever felt the heartbreak and trials that love can bring, especially those who have experienced abusive or controlling relationships, will relate to Lynnette's journey to find true love within herself. It also gives readers hope that they can bring their lives around from the brink of devastation and despair if they have the desire to help themselves. I hope that people will show their support and purchase a book because it really is a page turner. It is only when a seed grows that it can produce more seeds.
It is only when you express joy and abundance in your own
life that you can help others to know joy and abundance in
their lives.

The African-American Authors and Writers Group on YahooPosted August 23rd, 2008 at 06:51am I have just created a group on Yahoo called the African-American Authors and Writers Group. It is not a just a group for African-Americans only. It is a group that will highlight and elaborate on the literary work of black authors and writers. So far, I have no members, but I hope that changes. Readers of all nationalities will make up a huge part of this groups' membership.
