About me: A traveled, tall, athletic person. I ran track in college (actually, I competed in the long jump and triple jump) and still compete when I am not busy with work; right now, I'm training for the Texas and Penn Relays next year. Wish me luck! I am an army officer who also has a very high proficiency in Mandarin Chinese - yes, more than a few verbs and useful phrases in a restaurant. So, if you're a Chinese speaker interested in talking about politics, social issues, sports, environmental issues, or just want to chat, say hello sometimes. My life is comfortable - no issues with work, no children, just enjoying what life has to offer. My attitude is one that is accepting and calm. My idea of fun may be going to a jazz club one night and then going to a hip-hop club on the next night. Who I'd like to meet: Someone polished and aware of the large world around us. People who are thinkers and who have initiative. Believe it or not, subject-verb agreement is important, knowing the proper use of "your" versus "you're" is a telling sign about your background. I enjoy the company of progressive minded people that believe that all people really are equal. My ideal person/people to meet would be President and First Lady Obama. No, not because we are all brown but because I can relate to someone that came from a modest background, learned of the world, helped others while on their upward move, and now having the responsibility of rescuing our great country from our very own greed.
