Welcome to the Libertarian Party of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County on BlackPlanet. Our current system of government creates many unnecessary challenges for minorities in general, and African Americans in particular. The way our government cares for the poor makes it difficult to escape the clutches of poverty and realize the American dream. The passage of laws criminalizing non-violent behavior unjustly turns a large number of minorities into criminals and condemns them to a life of incarceration. Meanwhile, the government educates the children of minorities in their worst schools. Libertarians off a better solution, freedom to make the choices that are too important for government to handle.

Libertarians promote securing the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of property for everyone. It is impossible to support minority rights without supporting the rights of the individual. Libertarians support the rights of the world's smallest minority, the individual.
