personal message

I keep my feet on the ground and eye on the prize. I have a realistic, grounded approach to life that can be seen no matter how dreamy. I know how to do things and to get things done. I turn my back on things I deem too frivolous. I am very much concerned with things that are worthwhile and that includes my own life. I want to do and be something worthwhile. I need to feel useful and effective in the real world in order to be satisfied with my life. I possess a stronger need for recognition in a worldly sense. I have a strong sense of society and its framework and I feel most secure when I am doing my part within that framework. I like to pare things down and take pleasure in the simple things in life. However I am attracted to status symbols. I can see into the future and plan for it. I don't mind taking things slowly but I aim to get to the top of the mountain in life! I make my way steadily and sure footedly. I can sometimes be rather lonely although I rarely let it show. I am often a little reserved even standoffish. This is generally because I value all things practical and I seldom wear my emotions on my sleeves. I am resourceful. To some I come across as unimaginative but I can be enormously creative when it comes to the material world. I have a strong sense of tradition and responsibility. I have mastered the art of making people laugh. My sense of humor can be of the deadpan variety generally excellent at keeping a straight face. I can be bitingly sarcastic too. I am not known for taking too many risks in life. I value the beaten track and things "tried and true". This is not to say I am a stick in the mud. I simply value the hard work laid down by those who've been around before me. You can turn to me for help when you need to really get things done. I am generally good with my "word", dependable, and rather loyal person.

SPENDING THE DAY AT THE VA (SOMTHINGNEWTIME.COM)

No Spa. Admittedly, I didn't expect there to be a spa for hospital guests so this is a minor complaint. I'm just thinking out loud here, but maybe if a hospital was a little more like a hotel, patients might recover quicker, and their guests wouldn't be so bored waiting for them to recover. People that plan hospitals never think of things like this. Our hospital room was apparently located in a tunnel. That's the only explanation I can think of for why we didn't receive cell phone or internet... (continue reading)
