The best way to contact me is via facebook as I am not on BP often. www.facebook.com/duenmc

Thank you for taking the time out to view my page. I have had a BP page for a long time but felt it was time I made some updates and address some frequently asked questions. I know most people won't read this but there are reasons why every profile includes a "personal message" section and why I placed mine at the top of my page.

I am pursuing a graduate degrees in mathematics, physics, and education and a career in education. I operate a computer and IT engineering firm as well as humanitarian advocacy agency. When I am not working or studying I spend my free time volunteering at homeless shelters, tutoring high school students in mathematics and science, or involved in some form or civil service, activism, or with The Venus Project.

I am a Humanist. Humanism is, in sum, a philosophy for those in love with life. Humanists take responsibility for their own lives and relish the adventure of being part of new discoveries, seeking new knowledge, exploring new options. Instead of finding solace in prefabricated answers to the great questions of life, Humanists enjoy the open-endedness of a quest and the freedom of discovery that this entails. Science saves! :-)

Lastly, My social life involves Jazz spots, spoken-word lounges, and improve comedy clubs. I do everything from art galleries to mixed martial arts and star trek to sky diving. I enjoy staying home or going out for dinner and a movie but need to mix it up every now and then. Send a message. I welcome all questions and comments.

"When I became convinced that the universe is natural, that all the ghosts and gods are myths, there entered into my brain, into my soul, into every drop of my blood the sense, the feeling, the joy of freedom. The walls of my prison crumbled and fell. The dungeon was flooded with light and all the bolts and bars and manacles became dust. I was no longer a servant, a serf, or a slave. There was for me no master in all the wide world, not even in infinite space. I was free--free to think, to express my thoughts--free to live my own ideal, free to live for myself and those I loved, free to use all my faculties, all my senses, free to spread imagination's wings, free to investigate, to guess and dream and hope, free to judge and determine for myself . . . I was free! I stood erect and fearlessly, joyously faced all worlds." --Robert G. Ingersoll

If you have the ability to do something, then you have the responsibility to do something. Evil prevails when good men do nothing --Duen

"Humanism teaches us that it is immoral to wait for God to act for us. We must act to stop the wars and the crimes and the brutality of this and future ages. We have powers of a remarkable kind. We have a high degree of freedom in choosing what we will do. Humanism tells us that whatever our philosophy of the universe may be, ultimately the responsibility for the kind of world in which we live rests with us." --UU Minister Kenneth Phifer

"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." --Carlton Pearson

"Never forget, justice is what love looks like in public." --Dr. Cornel West

"The World is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion." --Thomas Paine

"I'm a human being, goddamn it. My life has value!" --Network (1976)
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." --Sri Chinmoy Kumar Ghose

"...until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned: That until there are no longer first-class and second class citizens of any nation; That until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; That until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race; That until that day, the dream of lasting peace and world citizenship and the rule of international morality will remain but a fleeting illusion, to be pursued but never attained..." --Excerpt from Haile Selassie's Address To The United Nations, 1963

"Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things and curiosity ke
