Hello all. I've been on the Planet for awhile now and have found it to be still enjoyable. When changes in life occurs, I guess it's best to change with them. So,I've finally changed up a few things on my page, as well. Even though things are different, I'll try to be the same me until me doesn't work for me anymore (smile). My weakness (besides chocolate chip cookies) is a good book--any suggestions? If you have nothing to do for a minute, check out Kindred by Octavia Butler, Shadow Of The Panther by Hugh Pearson, or anything by Donald Goines and Carl Webber.

I used 2 do the poetry thing many moons ago. I guess I have since lost my muse. Tell me, though, if this one would`ve broken the ice 4 me:

CAN I????

Can I come to u and tell u my name?
May I come sit with u in hopes of u doing the same?
Can I tell u a little about myself, about the things I hope u want to hear?
May I sit and listen to your wants, needs, and of the things u hold dear?

Can I have u take a walk with me
so that I may further enjoy your company?
May I take hold of your hands
so that I may pull u close to me?

Can I stare into your eyes in hopes
of staring into the windows of your soul?
May I gaze upon your body that
I hope one day I can hold?
Can I make plans for our future;
Of us together through lifes joys and pains?
May we start a new life togeher
after I come to u and tell u my name?

I`m a huge lover of music. Anything old school...Donny Hathaway (live), Anita Baker, The Dramatics, Cameo, and Enchantment fill my CD rack right now. Gimme some Sunday night slow jams and a nice drink (try some Canadian Mist & 7-UP) and all is right in my world. That's the type of music that takes me back when:

-we had Faygo AND M & S pops to choose from
-a dollar bought you all the candy you wanted for 3 days
-nothing made a females a$$es look better than Sergio Valente jeans
-you were ahead of the game if your boombox had double cassette players
-high school dances were better than any club going at the time
-Saturday morning cartoons (Superfriends, Scooby-Doo, Plastic Man, Johnny Quest, and ALL of the Schoolhouse Rock skits)
-watching the Great Space Coaster before school
-channel 20 was the best kids channel in the world (Mighty Mouse & deputy Dawg, Ultraman, Giant Robot, yall know em)
-hanging out at night as a kid meant being outside--and still on your block--racing up and down the sidewalk with friends
-having a girlfriend was as easy as "I like you. If you like me, circle yes or no." (ohhh, that was sooo cute!!!)
-cereal had good prizes in them
-MoJo played nothing but Prince (we can get 98 up here, too)
-the baddest mix DJ in the state was the Wizard on 93 (we got that one, too)
-colored Levis were the sh!t (I had black, purple and yellow ones)
-Starter jackets were in (I had the White Michigan one)
-most of us had some Kmart shoes at one point...Spalding, Zips, Pro Wings, yall remember
-rap was still new enough to where you were able to follow all of the artists
-girls would buy Right On! and Black Beat magazines to put the pictures on their walls
-the Shag hairdo was in
-channel "U" was as good as having cable
-the movie "10" was the nastiest movie out.
-The Scene was the baddest dance show on tv (anybody know the lady's name who always did the "snake")?
-the contestants really had to figure out the answer to the Soul Train scramble board.
-no matter what song came out after it, NOTHING gives you that "feeling" like Always and Forever by Heatwave
Hell, I could do this forever!!!!

I`ve seen a lot of "no pics, no reply" on some sites. What is that??? What, you need a pic of my hands so you can visualize them typing what I'm writing??? I`m sure u see handsome men everyday. If that`s what u r looking 4, u would`ve found him by now...u r looking 4 more than that (I hope), so why even go there??? Now what do you really want??? If u claim to just be "looking to converse (conversate 2 some of yall---oooh, that kills me!**smile**), what does it matter how someone looks? If it matters, though, I am brown-skinned, 6`3", 285 lbs, shaved head, goatee, glasses (unless I`m in the mood 2 put in the contacts)...No Denzel or Shemar---just your regular fine (smile). And a pic is at the bottom. Now that you know that, though, does it tell you about me? Does it say how loving a father I am? Maybe it mentions the unconditional love I have for my loved ones? Does it say that I have a violent temper and will have you constantly living in fear if you get with me? Do you even know if it's really me? I'll let you figure out which of those questions are accurate of me. Wait--it doesn't matter cause you've seen a pic and you're satisfied (smile). All it does is validate the description I gave of me. You can see me, but can you feel me????

If u are ever in a yahoo domino room (advanced) I`m professorm2002...be warned, I`m pretty surgical with some bones!!!

No depth, no reply (smile)

Flint, baby!!! yall be cool.

Inside or Outside...

For some reason, I've been running into this topic for the last couple of weeks. Was on a morning talk show, a good friend asked me about it, and I even saw a documentary on it. Before I start, I guess it's safe to say I'll never be able to give any firsthand knowledge on this one. The combo of being broke and a sudden slow deterioration of my confidence has basically ruled me out of this equation. But I could get back on track and get to the point, huh? Here it is: monogomy or monogomy... (continue reading)

I hope everyone's Christmas was to their liking. I have to admit that the time leading up to it is my favorite time of the year. I still watch Charlie Brown, Rudolph, and the other Christmas cartoons that come on (and I aint the only one, so don't front). It's also way stressful for me. About the only things that puts creases in my forehead are finances and my ability to provide. Just so happens that Christmas is a catalyst for it. Don't get me wrong, my loved ones aren't the pouty type when... (continue reading)

How often do you take inventory of yourself and come up with the things you love about yourself? Alot, I'm sure. As modest as we try to portray ourselves, we're almost always our biggest fan (smile). Nothing wrong with it; hell, that's how it's suposed to be. But on the flip side, how many of us take inventory and see what we need to work on? I don't mean that sitting-in-a-dimly-room-with-s ome-Blues music, brown liquor, and a roll of tissue paper-type of self-deprecation. Just really... (continue reading)
