personal message

A change in status equates to a change in my personal message....

Assuming that there are some of you that goes past the picture, I guess an introducion of some sorts is in order, huh? Ok. Sure, why not?

My name on here is Mr. Lyrics. I stand at exactly 5' 6; a short guy I am. Last time I checked (some months ago) I weighed 166. I work out a lot, so I am sure that has changed some. Everything else you can pick up from the photo. (UPDATE: I now weigh 155. :D Just thought I'd share that....)

I'm a very mellow person. Not much gets to me. I am usually in a calm and relaxed state, and I like to stay that way as much and for as long as possible.

Like I said, I am a mellow person, so it makes sense that the majority of the music I listen to is old school R&B, Jazz and modern day Neo Soul. I listen to other genres as well, but the majority is the aforementioned. However, unless we are talking about Common, Mos Def, Lupe' Fiasco and (recently) OutKast, I'm not much of a rap fan... too much negativity. If you're wondering why, I mention music because listening to it is what I do a whole lot of. (I know what you're thinking. "Yeah, so do I! I love listening to music too!" No. Chances are that you don't listen to music as much as I do, or the way that I do.) Music, although I have no actual talent in it, has been a very big part of my life. It has saved me from a lot of possible acts of stupidity, taught me a whole lot, comforted me in sadness, helped me celebrate happiness, helped me train, fuel my anger as well as tamed it, helped me meditate, caused me to think about many of things, got me through some... interesting situations, has helped me process just about anything yu can think of and always soothes my soul.

I'm a loner by nature. Yes, I am and have been taking steps to deminish that, but only for buisness and purposes. Outside of buisness and training, I prefer to be by myself. I keep a very small circle of friends, most of whom reside out of town. However, I am also a family oriented person. I value every last one of them to the highest degree possible.

As far as why I am on BP? To network. There are a few groups on BlackPlanet that I am apart of that I frequent quite often. I like these groups because of the various conversations that exist in them. They are entertaining, as well as informadable in some cases. Actually, the groups portion of this website is the only reason I didn't delete my profile about a year ago.

And thats it.

Life Lesson #... I don't know...

Life Lessons, huh? Something else, aren't they? You know, I read somewhere that Life is the toughest, most unfair teacher in existance, for Life tends to give you the test first and the lessons second. I've also heard another quote that says something along the lines like Wisdom is something that you gain after you need it. Hehehe... I've personally found the two aforementioned lessons to have some serious validity to it. My latest update as of May 31, 2010 says Be Smart. Protect your heart.... (continue reading)

We Are Not The Same

We are not the same I was thinking the other day about the difference between myself and other people. Outside of the fact that I am not the type of person to follow the crowd like many individuals seem to be these days, there are other major differences between myself the masses that makes up what many people would call ldquo;society.rdquo; Society dictates what is accepted as the ldquo;normrdquo; in the world that we live in today. It is now normal for 12, 13, and 14 year old children to... (continue reading)

Love At First Sight

Love at First Sight Do you believe in Love at First Sight? I don't. At least, I don't anymore. Or rather, to be more specific, I no longer do because I now know it to truly exist. The line between believing and knowing, however wide it may or may not be, has been crossed a long time ago. So merely believing in it simply doesn't do for me anymore. I know. I have seen it. And it is nothing like what the movies or your nighttime drama television shows depict. Like I said before, I have seen, or... (continue reading)
