Never would have made it, never could have made it, without you I would have lost it all,but now I see how you were there for me And I can say Never would have made it, Never could have made it, Without you I would have lost it all, But I now how I see how you were there for me and I can say I'm stronger, I'm wiser, I'm better, much better When I look back over all you brought me thru. I can see that you were the one that I held on to And I never, Never would have made it Oh I never could have made it Never could have made it without you Oh I would have lost it all, oh but now I see how you were there for me I never Never would have made it No, I never Never could have made it without you I would have lost my mind a long time ago, if it had not been for you. I am stronger I am stronger I am wiser I am wiser Now I am better I am better So much better I am better I made it thru my storm and my test because you were there to carry me thru my mess I am stronger I am stronger I am wiser I am wiser I am better I am better Anybody better I am better I can stand here and tell you, I made it. Anybody out there that you made it [Chorus] I made it, I made it, I made it, I made it, I made it, I made it, I made it, I made it And I never would have made it Never would have made it Never could have made it Never could have made it without you I would have lost my mind, I would have gave up, but you were right there, you were right there I never Never would have made it Oh I never I never could have made it without you. Someone need to testify next to them and tell them I am stronger, I am wiser, I am better, much better. When I look back over what he brought me thru. I realize that I made it because I had you to hold on to, now I am stronger, now I am wiser, I am better, so much better. I made it. Is there anybody in this house other than me that can declare that you made it. Tell your neighbor, never would have made it. Never would have made it. Never could have made it. Never could have made it without you. Never would have made it. Never would have made it. Never could have made it. Never could have made it without you ............. Marvin Sapp

THE TIME HAS COMEPosted September 29th, 2007 at 06:07pm
The time has come Black people for us to get our stuff together. The time has come for black people to start eradicating the nigga's in our communities. Let's stop with the internal bickering about if we are Black or if we are African American or if we are Negroes. Let's stop with the black on black crime, the black on black hatred. Let's stop buying stuff we can't afford and blaming our economic situation on "The Man". Let's stop making excuses for our current situations. Let's stop condoning behavior in our homes and communities that cause a disruptive force in our progress.
There have been countless black people who have come before us that have fought and died for the freedoms that we have today that we don't honor. Men and women who died for the right to have an opportunity to vote and have a say in our government. These heroes died for the opportunity, not for just an equal education, but just to go to school at all. Blacks have endured terror and abuse to stand in the gap and be the first black in multiple streams and avenues so that a place is created for other brothers and sisters to follow. How can we bare witness to such honor, courage, selflessness, determination and conviction and not have reverence for what they fought to get? I heard an off colored joke on an animated show, a character was saying "what kind of man would he be if he gave up trying because something was too hard", the other character said "you would be a black man". Do you get angry about hearing such a thing or do you recognize that there is an awful truth in the statement?
Slavery happened, get past it. You cannot change what happened yesterday, but tomorrow is yours to shape as you will. Use the anguish of such a terrible beginning as motivation to achieve greater things. It pains me when I look at the sacrifices of so many of "OUR" foremothers and forefathers who paid the prices in paving a way for a new future for us as a people. Then we turn around and honor their memories by refusing to maximize the most out of a free education. We honor their memories by refusing to get off our butt and take 20 minutes out of our day to cast a ballot. We honor their memories by going to work when we feel like it and doing just enough to get by. When the time comes for us to take a stand to improve our communities we honor their memory by being too busy watching TV, drinking or partying to get involved.
We as a people are leaders in gross dollars spent as consumers. But we are the lowest in wages earned and lowest per ethnic group in ownership. Which means we buy a lot of stuff, but we don't own much Real Estate, stocks, bonds, or businesses. What are we spending our money on? Where is our sense of growth and progress? People with the least amount of money, pay more per capa for goods and services, then those who have more money to spend towards the same purchases. This is because people, who care about the growth of their money, know that they can't spend every dollar and then expect to have a dollar left. Your money is your money to do what you please, but if you have more money going out the back door then you have coming in the front, how long will it take before the money is all gone.
Why we don't do more to support black businesses? Why don't we give more support to our neighborhood block clubs to keep our communities clean? Why aren't we petitioning more and supporting our local government to keep our neighborhoods free from crime and drugs? Why don't we call the police more and report more suspicious behavior in our communities? These are important questions that we need to start asking ourselves and implementing regarding our own involvement to help the growth of our neighborhoods, our communities and collectively, our people.
Let's create a place of unity and peace where we can feel safe in our own communities. Let's be supportive and create an environment that fosters learning for our children as a good thing. Let's explore more opportunities for growth for ourselves by learning to be better at whatever we do. If we are the body that makes the growth, our children are inheritors of that legacy. Let us create a legacy for them to build on and implore them to do the same for their children. Let us honor the fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, grandfathers, grandmothers, cousins, sisters and brothers who came before us to make a way for us. Let us use what we have today in who we are today to be a force of nature for generations to come!
"A good man/woman leaves an inheritance to his children's children" : Proverbs 13:22a Where the Soul IsPosted August 14th, 2007 at 06:12pm
There will likely be times in your life when your soul evolves more quickly than your circumstances. Your subconscious mind may be ready to move forward long before you recognize that you are destined to embrace a new way of life. Your soul intuitively understands that changing habitats can be a vital part of the growth process and that there may be one part of you that is eager to move to another home, another state, or another plane of existence. But the ties that bind you to your current mode of being can make moving into this next stage of your life more challenging than it has to be. If you find it difficult to move on, consider that just as people in your life may come and go, your role in others' lives may also be temporary. And many of the conditions that at first seemed favorable served you for a short time. When you are ready to match your situation to your soul, you will find that you feel a new sense of harmony and increasingly connected to the ebb and flow of the universe. |
personal messageI thought about the idea of writing my own memoirs about the
world at large and then decided against it. Let me just say the
world is a huge place and all kinds of people live here. Some
people we gravitate towards and some people we should.......just
leave alone. Friends and Family are like precious stones, value
then! Brotha's....It's time for us to take our seat as kings....and BE
KINGS. The women are looking for us to be the men that we professed
that we are. The children are looking for the fathers that are
absent. Our communities are looking for leadership. There is a hole
in the fabric of our society and we as KINGS are the missing
pieces. Hanging out with the fella's is cool, but too much of that
time is being spent and much is getting neglected. I agree...much
of what we need to know...the father before us failed. But, let us
use what we know TODAY in who we are RIGHT NOW to be men of honor,
men of integrity, and men of respect! Your word should be
bond....because YOU walk in it!!! There is nothing on this Planet
greater than a black man with a PURPOSE of love, of family and of
determination!!! "In the east......between one person and another there is only light" Author unknown I honor the place in you in which the entire Universe dwells,I honor the place in you which is of Love, of Truth, of Light and of Peace, When you are in that place in you,and I am in that place in me, we are One! ~Namaste~ If you feel me touch down and leave m a note!! favorite pagesmy gifts
