Everyone keeps asking "What brought you to Blackplanet?" Actually
my buddy Jay introduced me to BP back in 1998. I stayed for a while
and then dropped off. BP certainly was a lot different then. So why
am I here now??? Many people refer to BP as a dating site I don't
know that I am here for that purpose. I look at BP as a tool to
meet new exciting people (male and female) and to stay connected
with those individuals I have already chosen to share my life with.
I am looking for people I can connect with on a mental, spiritual,
and emotional level. I am not here for one night stands and random
physical acts. I would like to think that we have grown beyond that
and people recognize the need for meaningful relationships
especially within our black community. What I am looking for in a
friend as well as a mate (because I believe anyone I intend to
spend my life with must be my friend first) is honesty...brutal
honesty, loyalty, understanding, compassion, someone who brings out
the very best in me but is there to hold my hand and lift me up
when I am at my very worst. I am looking for someone who will allow
me to love them completely and who will in turn love me freely. I
need a friend who can laugh (I mean until the laughter turns to
tears) and someone who will hold me when on the very rare occassion
I need to have good cry. A friend who can fill in the blanks.
Someone who will just sit with me and be there even when we don't
say a word in our hearts we just know. I want a soul connection.
Someone that I carry with me everyday deep in my heart. For the
ladies of course someone who I can enjoy a movie, shopping, and
nonsense talk, and frilly girlie things. For the guys someone who
will not be intimidated by my love for fast cars, football,
basketball, boxing, and all those other things us gals aren't
supposed to know about. All of the things I am looking for also
mirror who I am and what I will bring to any relationship. To my
friends I am everything you need when you need it I'm a bff,
girlfriend, mother, sister, sista, daughter, lover, tomboy,
preacher, teacher, lawyer, doctor, confidant, shielder, protector,
chef, shrink, etc. I am sweet, sassy, sexy, stubborn, silly, and
above all I am woman of great depth and character. Here I
am....nice to meet you.
