(New York, NY - December 7, 2006) - 2-time Grammy winner and 12-time Grammy nominee India.Arie added 3 more nominations to her resume when the 49th Annual Grammy Awards Nominations were announced this morning in Los Angeles. India.Arie was nominated for Best R&B Album for her triumphant album Testimony: Vol.1, Life & Relationship, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her single from the album, "I Am Not My Hair" and another nomination for "Hair" in the prestigious Best R&B Song category.
The awards culminate an incredible year for the acclaimed singer/songwriter whose return to the limelight via her third studio album Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship on Universal Motown Records has been hailed by both critics and fans alike. The much heralded disc, which debuted at number #1 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart this summer, was produced by India.Arie with longtime collaborators Shannon Sanders and Mark Batson (Seal, Beyonce). VIBE Magazine described it as "pensive and poeti" while the album's first video, "I Am Not My Hair," helmed by Barnaby Roper (Moby, Razorlight) fast became a staple on both VH1 and BET.
