THE VISION
"You see things and you ask why? I dream things and ask why not?"
*Urban Relevance* is simply *music for the streets* and approaches the diseases of today: Drug and child abuse, homelessness, loneliness and rejection, the root of all rebellion. *Urban Relevance* will cover all different kinds of musical styles from Acoustic Soul to Gospel Jazz and from R&B to Latin and each song will approach the acts of the sinful nature (Galatians 5:19-22) and will deal with a different spirit which wars against the human soul and God's perfect will for our lives. With these 10 songs (plus 2 bonus tracks) I wanted to point out the devil's scheme in our society and in our homes.
I now want to introduce this old world to the testimony of Eva Marea.

BIOGRAPHY
…EVA MAREA is a singer/songwriter, shaped by various musical and cultural influences. Born into a middle-class family in Central Europe, father a hobby pianist and organ player, she discovered her love for music and singing at an early age. Growing up on the country and being put into a commercial college without music or art classes by her mother, she didn't have many other opportunities to develop the gifts God has blessed her with, but teach herself. Her musical influences came from all kinds of different genres, listening to her brother's Crossover and Rock records till she discovered Hip Hop, Soul and R&B and finally found the type of music her heart is beating for right now: Gospel and Jazz!
1998 she spent her first summer in New York and fell in love with the city. Once she got back to Europe she started facing a very difficult time as a teenager in her home and at High School which she began to digest by writing poetry. Feeling left alone, rejected, abandoned and misunderstood she developed some kind of solidarity with the 'castaway' in our society and expressed her emotional pain in poems and lyrics.
At the age of 15 an African American family adopted her in the spirit, strengthening and providing her with sound, Christian teaching. It was through poetry and songwriting that she met her future mentor and the person God had chosen to accompany her on the road of life heading towards her true treasure - Jesus Christ. The spiritual encounter with this man shaped Eva Marea's life, her thinking and also the approach of her music.
Due to a serious disease she had to spend 2 months in hospital where she completely lost her voice for the first time and was afraid that she won't be able to speak or sing again. After the medical treatment she had to fight with various allergies, rashes and other health problems.
After returning from Atlanta, GA and getting saved in 2003 Eva Marea moved to Vienna in order to study International Development (Foreign Aid). Being in a major city enabled her to take advantage of the musical palette and opportunities there, so she started taking lessons in classical singing and musical for 2 years. 2004 was a very important year for her when she met people in key positions who encouraged her in the endeavor of being a sincere songwriter.
In the following months she began the work on her first Christian music project "Por Dios" using the synonym "Agape2theworld Music Ministry". In summer 2005 she ministered at a church in South Jersey, doing a music ministry in Trenton and some small gigs in Manhattan. February 2006 Eva Marea and her co-writer and brother in Christ Johnny K. Palmer started working on a song for the Zion Hope Baptist Church in Detroit, MI, after a lady got shot during a church service. The purpose of the song "Zion still stands" was to encourage the body of Christ and to raise funds in order to support the Williams family and Zion Hope.
Fighting a 7 years long war against drug addiction and homelessness with her spiritual family in the streets of Detroit as well as the loss of people in her environment to drugs inspired Eva Marea to start another music project under the title "Urban Relevance." Urban Relevance is simply music for the streets and deals with the evil spirits that make people turn to idols and give up on themselves.
After attending various vocal and songwriting workshops she joined a cover band in Vienna but playing secular music didn't bring her the same joy than singing for God. Returning to what she knows the best and feels the strongest, Gospel and other spiritual music, Eva Marea currently continues the work on her spiritual music project Urban Relevance and is collaborating with various musicians and songwriters in Austria and the USA.
DEDICATION
THIS ALBUM IS DEDICATED TO ALL THE HOMELESS PEOPLE IN THE STREETS OF NEW YORK CITY AND DETROIT AND IN ALL THE OTHER MEGACITIES.
"NATURAL HIGH", ONE OF THE SONGS WHICH IS VERY CLOSE TO MY HEART, IS DEDICATED TO ALL THE MOTHERS OUT THERE WHO EVER LOST A SON OR A DAUGHTER TO A DEMON CALLED DOPE!
I WHOLEHEARTEDLY PRAY THAT OUR GENERATION MAY WAKE UP AND STEP FROM DARKNESS INTO THE LIGHT! I PRAY THAT THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS MAY NO LONGER HAVE CONTROL OVER OUR HEARTS, MINDS AND SOULS! MAY OUR HOMES BE BLESSED, OUR STREETS BE BLESSED; OUR FAMILIES BE BLESSED AND MAY OUR HEARTS BE TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER OF LIFE! AMEN!
