Recruited for the legendary gospel group Commissioned while still a relative unknown, Marvin Sapp recorded with the group until its dissolution in 1995, and then began his own solo career with a self-titled album the following year. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI (where he has based his JOY Ministries outreach), Sapp debuted with Commissioned in the early '90s after Keith Staten left for solo work. 1996's Irreplaceable Love. By that time Sapp had signed a solo contract too, and March 1996 saw the release of his self-titled debut on Word Records. The album reunited him with former Commissioned mate Fred Hammond (who produced the LP) and featured the gospel hits "Calling Me" and "In His Presence." Sapp's sophomore effort, Grace & Mercy, appeared in May 1997, followed two years later by Nothing Else Matters. After a short absence from the music scene, he reappeared under contract at Versity Records and released the song "I Believe" on the WOW Gospel 2002 album, followed by the album I Believe later in 2002. "There was a psalmist by the name of David who wrote and played melodies directed only to God," explained Sapp. "So I choose the title of the album as a both chronicle for people to learn how to worship and praise God based on my own personal experiences, as well as I wanted people to see me in a different light I wanted people to understand who I am and who God called me to be, and I think the music reflects a change in my life and in my music ministry." Happy New Year Saints!!!!!!!
Well let me start by saying Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. For the Lord has seen fit for us to be here one more day, and for some of our love ones to be at home in peace.
Now as you know I've been very busy, ministering, teaching, singing, and touring, according to your letters alot of you have met me as well as seen me. I appriciate all the love you all have shared and given to my family and me. For without God and my Lord and Savior, I couldn't, I wouldn't have been able to run for the Lord like I do. Thank you Jesus.
I also want to applogize for not keeping you all updated. There will be a video of "Never would have made it" on the page hope you enjoy. Well it was great writing to all. I will try to do this more often. I love you and God bless. Remember God is always just a prayer away.

Let me start off by saying, Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou. Do you know why i say thank you. Because God is still in the saving business. I say that because "Never would've made it", that song the Lord has put into my heart to present to you, has saved so many people.
I've gotten so many notes, and testimonies just from this site alone, telling me how this blessit song has changed there life. Has uplifted people when they were down and out, has had them going before the Lord asking God to save them, then God gives me this song knowing that this song is going to change life's. (Do you hear me out there!!!!!!). God has givin us something to grow on, to realize just how far the Lord has brought us. People have come up to me who"Was" living in the World, Hallelujah, telling there testimonies. Some who never listened to gospel, never heard of me, and got saved.
Just understand Jesus saves thank you for your testimonies. I love you

Greetings in the name of our lord and savior, I like to welcome back every one this New Year and i pray all is well. I hope that you all enjoyed the new video's i put on the page. I have an older one i was thinking of addeding, and please let me know if theres anything else you would like to see on this page. Oh yes, Thank you all for the compliments and the notes.
