about the artist

A favorite of both the streets and critics alike, Capone-N-Noreaga, have been pushing the boundaries of hip hop for over a decade. With such groundbreaking records as The War Report, The Reunion and the new record, Channel 10, C-N-N is beginning a new chapter in their career and continues to redefine what New York sounds like.

The story of C-N-N reads like a hip-hop fable. Growing up in different Queens housing projects, Capone (n Kiam Holley) and Noreaga (n Victor Santiago) didn't cross paths until they met while serving time in a correctional facility. Their time spent on the streets of Queens, combined with what they experienced behind bars helped fuel their rhymes, providing a sort of depth and pithiness few rappers can hope to emulate. Upon their release from the correctional facility, Capone and Noreaga teamed up and began cultivating their fan base with their first single, "Illegal Life." C-N-N's breakthrough came with the release of "T.O.N.Y." and a collaboration with Mobb Deep called "L.A., L.A.," which had the East Coast duos firing back at the Dogg Pound's "New York, New York." The War Report, released on Penalty Records in 1997, eventually went gold and landed in the Top 5, earning C-N-N a spot alongside other established rap acts.

C-N-N dropped The Reunion in 2000, which went Gold as well. It remains an underground favorite. In between records, Capone ran into some legal trouble and ended up in jail. Noreaga launched an extremely successful solo career. Even with Capone behind bars, the pair were an unstoppable duo - Capone executive produced N.O.R.E and Melvin Flynt - Da Hustler. With the legal travails behind them, C-N-N began readying Channel 10, to be released on Thugged Out Militainment/SMC Recordings. It is their first record in eight years and features production by DJ Premier, The Alchemist and more. Guest appearances include The Clipse, Dogg Pound, Shawty Lo, Maino and more.

With their game faces on, their sound on point and the biz-side just right, Capone and Noreaga's story will continue. Tune into Channel 10 in 2009.
