Lead Single "There Goes My Baby" Climbs the Urban AC Charts

New York, NY - R&B extraordinaire will Charlie Wilson will release his second Jive Records solo effort, Uncle Charlie, on February 17th.  The album's lead single "There Goes My Baby" is cowritten by multi-Grammy winner Babyface and garnering strong support on radio stations nationwide and it's currently Top 10 at Urban AC Radio according to R&R.

Uncle Charlie features collaborations with hip hop luminaries Snoop Dogg and T-Pain along with soul singer Jamie Foxx as well as production work by te Grammy-nominated duo the Underdogs.  Containing sweeping ballads, mid-tempo melodies, and upbeat dance tracks Uncle Charlie continues in the musical tradition of the "de-facto father of new jack swing" Charlie Wilson's fusion of contemporary and classic R&B.

As the former lead vocalist of the legendary trio The Gap Band, Charlie is considered on of the greatest and most distinctive voices of R&B.  Classic hits such as "Outstanding" and "You Dropped the Bomb on Me" are among the most sampled tunes by contemporary Rap and R&B artists.  Charlie Wilson's first solo album on Jive Records, the gold-certified, Charlie Last Name Wilson, was produced by R. Kelly, who also wrote and produced the title track.  The song owned the #1 spot on the Urban AC chart for over three months.
