Re: Stop Discrediting My Music
Stop Discrediting My Music
I have noticed that many music professionals’ executives etc. seem to always tell artist what they need to do to get into the music business, but never seem to be receptive of the music. You've heard all kind of stories on how you need to build a buzz, sell thirty thousand cds, build relationships, and get a good attorney. What's amazes me, is no one seems to be listening to the music in my personal opinion until you hit the level of a 50cent, then everybody wants to listen to the music, because all that other shit that they mention to you on the way up to the top really don’t matter. I think it’s a huge disconnect with music period (hip hop & R&B). I remember a time when Dj’s use to play slow songs at our junior high school dance. Everyone could fell the love from real R&B not R&B wit some hip hop beat to it. Music like R&B along with hip hop brought a balance to the earth, hip hop gave you energy and R&B gave you compassion for the common man.
Well, now music seems to not have any real connection wit the soul. People are being dumb down and hip hop music is falling into that category of what we call DUMB DOWN RAPPING. So, the end result is you have record label executive looking for dumb down artist to sign to the label. In return, you have dumb down A&R's who themselves have been listening to bullshit. I think the A&R’s have been hood winked by the elite who want watered down rap music. Many record executive in my opinion souls have been suppressed by the bullshit with none informative artist, or important music, which causes you to be less aware of what’s hot and more adapt to what’s not.
Stop discrediting my music is a theme that artist need to take wit these labels, open mics, managers, promoters, and executives, publishers, movie directors and anyone else who forget that with out this artist you may not have a job yourself. To all you the artist out there don't feel bad when you pass on your cd, and the person receiving it does not look interested his soul may just be to dead to hear what’s hot and open to what’s not!
