about the artist

Bio In the beginning as unknown talent this is the time were artist discover that you have to have self confidence, and determination to make it into the world of music.

EHCHO is ready to surpass his local status."I have a lot of material that I'm working on that I feel is going to get some acknowledgement, so I need to be ready for whatever comes my way once people hear my music."

The first album that EHCHO put out with duo member J-Rell was rushed. The cd had some positive feedback, but it also got some bad reviews.

"The business side is the most important thing about music. If you don't have the guidance or knowledge to move toward what needs to be done you will find youself moving backwards."

Having only five singles, and the rest of the album being freestyle fill-in's the 1999 album that EHCHO & J-Rell recorded titled," Off My Chest " was not the successful project they thought it would be.

Being compared to Out Kast, because of their original self expressed music they had to change their approach to bringing original music to the Dallas streets.

After getting very little support with the album, EHCHO & J-Rell kept working on music displaying their creativity." We started listening to a wide selection of artist with different music backgrounds (Rock, Blues, Country music) just to break away from sounding like any other hip hop artist."

Time passed, and now going solo, EHCHO started going to every event that Dallas had. Entering himself into open mic shows, and even commercial castings rapping about company products did nothing to help his career.

"I was even featured on a song off the cd, (Purple Dimond) put out by Dimond D, and Big Tuck (two big names coming out of Dallas), but not to many people knew it was me rapping."

"I was also featured on the album, (Don't Get it Twisted) put out by, Southern Flava Music's female artist Lady Hitta, a talented artist from Louisiana."

EHCHO started preparing himself for that big break, but was only faced with reality that it may not be his calling to be a rap artist. The drive for success was now starting to fade. Going to some of the independent lables trying to get a helping hand was time that seemed to be wasted, but for EHCHO it was a learning experience.

"What I started doing was watching, and learning while being put on the back burner." EHCHO started learning how to make beats by watching different producers.

Not to long after trying to put a mixtape together J-Rell (known as 5-Ten) introduced him to DJ Drop (a well known Dallas DJ) and started observing him using recording programs while he recorded at the DJ's studio.

With helpful tips from DJ Drop, EHCHO was on his way to recording in his own studio, working on the mixtape titled, "Broken Language."
The mixtape was strongly push creating a buzz in the Lancaster (a small city located in Dallas county) area.

The mixtape was put together to show case his new stlyes and growth as an MC.
This project is what put the fire back into EHCHO motivating him to be heard by the hip hop world, which he had closely thought of letting go.

Now being one of many artists coming out of Texas, EHCHO see's himself having what it takes to cross over to mainstream. The evolution of hip hop is growing fast, and the spot light is shining on many of the Texas self made artist.

Start looking forward to hearing more of EHCHO's music as he continues to make mixtapes, and push singles off his new, and upcoming album, Self titled EHCHO "Im Here Now."
