PJ3, as an artist and a producer, has worked in every genre of music. In Buffalo, New York, at the age of 5, he showed glimpses of musical brilliance playing the piano and singing. Years later in high school, with a purchase of a drum machine, 4 track recorder and a keyboard, he produced his first rap CD at the age of 15. That same year, he got accepted to Berklee College of Music's Summer course. There, he was introduced to various styles of jazz, fusion and electronic music.
When he was accepted at Berklee on scholarship, he started performing and singing with the gospel choir under the direction of Dennis Montgomery. Working off campus doing artist development for Maurice Starr, he had an opportunity to work with the "New Kids on the Block", "Marky Mark" and programming & producing for Elektra recording artist Chris Bender. After leaving Boston, he started a small production and recording label called"Feelmore Ave. Records". Several highlights during this time were his chance to work with Blessid Union Souls, Robbie Nevel and legendary keyboardist, Joe Sample.
Recently, this seasoned musician has traveled to Thailand to perform at the Heineken Jazz Festival with jazz vocal sensation Harvey Thompson. He went back to New York summer of 2003 perform with Rock & Roll legend, Chuck Berry for the Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary Party.
Now residing part-time in Japan, he has teamed up with Zak B. to exploit their unique musical backgrounds. Keep your eyes and ears open for new CD releases from PJ3 & The Groove Kings and some collaboration Dance music projects!!
