Planethazeh (AKA: Kent Heyward) is an independent recording artist, performer, arranger, singer, bandleader, percussionist and multi-instrumentalist. His musical style might be defined as a combination of intelligent lyricism, technical ability and creative vision. Drawing influences from jazz, rock, blues, funk, Afro-Cuban and classical music, he has created a sound that is both unique and widely appealing. In exploring his broader musical concepts, active involvement in the SF Bay Area "West Coast World Music/Afro-Beat Movement" inspired fusing Afro/Latin rhythms with jazz and rock into his compositions. In the 70s & 80s he performed and recorded with international artists such as Taj Mahal on "Humpty Dumpty" Family Folk Festival - Music For Little People 1990-93 (http://store.musicforlittlepeople.com/index.html), Rod Deal and the I-deals (heard on "Manifest Destiny" Police State-Step One Studio Productions-Independent Artists Recordings 1986 http://www.humboldtmusic.com/roddeal), and can be heard on recordings by Mandinka, Next Alliance, Mapenzi, Ashante, Las Malandras, Main Squeeze and Zulu Spear (Welcome To The USA - Liberty Record division of Capital-EMI Records 1992 http://zulu-spear.musicstack.com/). Planethazeh currently records and performs with Living On Dreams throughout the west coast USA. The Living On Dreams Band plays Eclectic/Funk/Acid/ Smooth Contemporary Jazz; featuring local musical artists:  Kent Heyward on Vocals, Tenor and Soprano Saxophones, Larry Cavalier on Vocals and Keyboards, Richard Meyer on Vocals, Bass and Electric Violin and Michael Fitch on Drums. Musical and vocal stylings range from Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis and Cole Porter to Diana Krall, Smokey Robinson to Etta James. Kent's music mirrors the harmony and rhythm of life itself; without harmony there would be little depth in life's resonance. It's all about the music and there is something in this music for virtually everyone.
