SLUMHEROES: THE FACE OF THE SOCA/HIP-HOP MOVEMENT. A duo out of New York by way of Trinidad & Tobago, making their mark on the world with their own brand of music. Founded in 2000, they blazed the trail with performances all over the country obtaining an underground following made up of different walks of life. A fusion of The Caribbean and New York, SLUMHEROES maintain true to their essence bridging the gap between Rap and Caribbean music. Red & Dirt (slumheroes), is said to have two different styles, Red (hook), being the more melodious and Dirt being the more explosive lyrically. This is evident when you listen to the tracks they produced together, the chemistry is uncanny and there's a profound sense of critical planning and execution. They have songs on the scores of Mixing Nia ( 1997) and Ghetto Dog (2000), two movies of which one member (Red) made his acting debut in the latter with a major role. They are 2004 Soca Award Nominees and are currently making waves in Japan, with their debut courtesy a collaboration with King heartbeat records. They are currently working on "3rd World 1st" - the album, (a span of 2 yrs. producing and recording in various NY studios. The album already hailed as a classic by sneak-peak listeners is sure to expand the horizons of both musicians and fans throughout the World of music.
