about the artist

WELCHES "Hip Hop Next Prodigy" was born on October 1 in Newark, NJ. Welches fell in love with rap at the age of six. With influences such as LL Cool J, Notorious BIG, and Tupac, Welches began rapping at the age of sixteen. At the age of eighteen he joined a rap group called I.N.A. and began to working on his style, rap, flow and lyrics. While with I.N.A. Welches featured on their first group cd called, "Only the Strong Survive". People began to notice that Welches had a real slick flow and hot punch lines to go with it. Welches style and flow is real laid back and calm and he has a West Coast kind of swagger, but also keeping that East Coast Style with him. In 2004 Welches left the group in pursuit of becoming a solo artist. After leaving I.N.A, Welches came out with two mix tapes that he just sold locally. With those two cds being successful Welches began to working on his demo. During that time Welches was working on his demo, he performed at places such as the Remote Lounge, Warped Tour 2005, The A&R power Summit, small clubs, and 3 Mic Magazine events. He was a finalist for Blackplanet's Wired for Battle (which the video can be found on Blackplanet) and was also a finalist for Jay-Z's Nets Theme Song Contest. Listen to his music By the way, his music IS copyrighted and registered with the Copyright Office at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC so don't even think about stealing.
