You were the one in my dreams An unknown face, just an image it seems.

Walking with me hand in hand Knowing that you were the perfect man.

You looked in my eyes, and held up my chin And told me of this love you held deep within.

"I love you and no one else" you said These visions of you dancing around in my head.

Your beautiful eyes gazing deep into mine Everything stood still for one moment in time.

You looked so angelic as you were crouched on one knee And said "Won't you come live your life with me?"

"Yes my love", I said through tears We would share our love all throughout the years.

There would be no more lies or deceit ever again The way God intended between women and men.

But it was only a dream, you aren't real It's what I long for, what I need to feel.

Please send me a gift from Heaven above I don't want to be alone, God, I pray to be loved.

My heart is healed, but you can see the scars, Scars that the years have left behind

God take my heart and make it brand new,God told me if I did you wouldn't be you.

You need to hurt and learn to heal, You need to learn all the different ways you can feel.

But God I asked, why leave the scars The are ugly and painful, this is going too far.

The scars will stay, sorry my dear You will see them year after year,

They are your character and who you have been,They are a reflection of your every sin,

Now take your heart out and hold your head high, I breathed a deep and heavy sigh.

God said then, Your life has meaning and happiness too That is because my child, I love you.
