BLESSINGS! Phil. 4:4

ONE DAY AT A TIME

There are 2 days in every week about which we should NOT worry--2 days which should be kept from fear and apprehension. One of the days is yesterday, with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, and its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed. We cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone. The other day we should NOT worry about is tomorrow. Tomorrow is beyond our immediate control. Tomorrow`s sun will rise, whether in splendor or behind a mask of clouds. But it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow. This leaves only one day--today. Anyone can fight the battles of just one day. It is when you and I add the burden of those two awful eternities--yesterday and tomorrow that we break down. Let us therefore live ONE day at a time.

IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES

If I knew it would be the last time that I`d see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in tighter and pray the Lord your soul to keep. If I knew it would be the last time that I`d see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and a kiss and call you back for one more. If I knew it would be the last time I heard your voice lifted up in praise, I would videotape each action and word to play them back day after day. If I knew it would be the last time I could spend an extra minute or two, to stop and say I love you, instead of assuming that you KNOW I do. If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well, I`m sure you`ll have so many more so I can just let this one slip away. For surely there`s always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything right. There will always be another day to say our “I love you`s” and certainly there`s another chance to say our “Anything I can do`s?” But just in case I might be wrong and today is all I get, I`d like to say I love you and hope we never forget. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, and today may be your last chance to get to hold your loved one tight. So if you`re waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today. For if tomorrow never comes you`ll surely regret the day that you didn`t take the extra time for a smile, a hug or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone what turned out to be their one last wish. So always hold them dear, take time to say, “I`m sorry” “Please forgive me” “Thank you” or “It`s O.K.” And if tomorrow never comes you`ll have no regrets about today.

RECONCILIATION

When there is harmony, peace and love in our relationships, life is beautiful and filled with joy; But so often, because of sin, our relationships with others become tangled or broken --like yarn the cat has played with, or shattered glass. Praise God that He has created each of us a unique being and through His son has restored our broken relationships with Him and with each other. May He help us look beyond our individual differences to appreciate our lives and relationships as precious gifts from Him---too precious for us to erect walls between us. May He grant us respect for each other despite our differences and nurture in us the love we share in Christ Jesus our Lord.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU IN ABUNDANCE!!!
