Pretenders




Pretenders passing by whispering sweet nothings

And saying just that...nothing

Simply fair-weather friends till the end

There today but gone tomorrow

On my rainy days they are no where to be found

Glad I'm bound by not only my Father's love

But my own

Just pretenders

Passing by my heart taking shelter on their cloudy days

Soaking up my rays of sunshine illuminating from within

Stealing the key to my heart

Then dashing

Running away with laughter

I simply hear the pitter patter of their feet

Escaping with the wind

Pretending to be friends

Pretending

It's amazing how folks claim to be your friend but actually aren't. They rejoice over misfortune and hate to hear all that's going right in your life. If anyone has "friends" like that, let them go cuz they are far from friends. I like folks that encourage you to do better. I like positive people.
