personal message

Hello, everyone. Permit me to tell you something about myself. I am R. Jerome Harris over there to the right. I was born and raised in the city of Racine, Wisconsin. (Go Park Panthers !!!)

I have chosen to present myself via a series of bullet statements below:

  • I am first and foremost a Disciple of Christ as expressed at John 8:31-32. My loyalty is to God only and Christ's teachings and not any established religion. I often find myself at odds with many religious organizations for my firm stand. I maintain a blog at e-Prophetic.com that discussed the controversial stand I have taken. Yet, it is a stand I feel strongly about and it is who I am. Please feel free to visit e-Prophetic.com and read the many articles and leave your comments. All comments are welcomed and I do not censor any.

  • Professionally, I wear many hats: I am an Information Technology Specialist (Network) / Web Developer / Instructional Systems Developer / Internet Marketer. The first three positions involve my actual 9-5 job; the last one, is something I took an interest in back in 1996 when the Internet was an infant.

  • I love people, experiencing the different cultures within the human family, computing, the Internet and mining it to learn how to make money and learning new technologies to the fullest in that endeavor.

  • I love people and I love to teach and help people achieve an online presence by building and running successful websites.

  • I watch Google closely for the purposes of understanding their SEO mindset. While I understand no one will figure out Google, I have learned some valuable SEO tidbits simply by learning all I can from Google itself. I share many of these tidbits on this blog.

  • I love to write; not something I always loved to do. Over the years I cultivated a love for it.

  • I love to travel. I have either lived in or traveled to Thailand, Panama, The Republic of the Philippines, Greece, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Morocco, China, Mongolia, Africa, Iceland, Ecuador, Peru, India, Sao Tome, and Honduras. I am planning trips to New Zealand, Egypt, and Ethiopia in the near future.

  • I served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and as an Aviation Communications / Navigations Systems Instructor and taught and maintained systems on almost all Air Force aircraft in it's inventory. I hold a certification as a Master Instructor. You know, something like Master of the Universe. :)

  • I have developed and taught formal classes in Basic and Intermediate Electronics and Digital Technology both domestically and abroad in some of the countries mentioned in the seventh bullet statement above which led to a certification to those individuals successfully completing the instruction. My most challenging instructional excursions have been in the countries of Greece and on the small West African Island of Sao Tome. Greece because the Greeks are some tough customers to control in the classroom.  In Sao Tome, because of the language differences. The official language in Sao Tome is Portuguese. I do not speak Portuguese.

  • I love to teach and explaining things in clear terms. I believe in explaining things to others as if I am the one having it explained to me.

  • I earned three degrees: BS Business Administration, AAS Electronics Technology, and AAS in Instructional Systems Development.

  • I love watching and participating in sports; in particular NBA and collegiate basketball, football and tennis. I have played basketball at the High School level and really came into my own (a late bloomer) when I entered into the United States Air Force. It was there that I was selected to play on the NATO basketball team. I still play as my time (and knees) permit but at a much slower and less competitive pace. But I will still take you to the hoop !!!

  • I love Smooth Jazz: Marion Meadows, David Sanborn, Euge Grove, Peter White, Rick Braun, Paul Hardcastle, Grover Washington Jr. etc

  • I am currently employed by a large Federal Government Agency as an IT Specialist. (Please do not ask me which one as regulation does not permit it).

  • I love Turkey and Cornbread Dressing, Candied Yams, Giblet Gravy, "Hot-Water" Cornbread, Greens, and Cranberry Sauce. A little pepper sauce on those greens please.
