You're probably thinkin' "What? A white guy on BlackPlanet??" Yep. I believe that no one should be segregated from anything. I'd like to think I have a sound opinion on topics and don't get stuck on things that happen in the past to cement my beliefs in the future. There was slavery in America's history. Absolutely dispicable. Sad that as a whole, our country will never get past that fact. I didn't create it and will never have a 'racist' view towards any other race. EVERY one has some type of prejudice though. Weather it be towards another religion, race, gender, or whatever/whomever you choose to judge, it's just that....pre-judging someone. But if you don't give every individual a clean slate before you get to know them, you're doing yourself a grave injustice. And yes, I voted for Obama, not becuase he was black or white, but because I trusted he would do what he felt was right for our nation and the world. He'll make mistakes. That's part of the job, but at least he's doing SOMETHING. It's amazing to see all these people jump on him for not turning this country around at his one year anniversary. The problems that were created and dumped in his lap from the Bush Administration were epic, and this country could have spiraled completely out of control. Thank God it's Obama and not the McCain/Palin group steerin' us back after 8 years of the Bush %#&@$! up...
