Social Security should be a STAND ALONE program like Newt Gingrich suggested......

Also, younger workers should have the OPTION of putting at least HALF of the money they presently pay into social security into a NON-TAXABLE PERSONAL ACCOUNT to manage but could not withdraw until retirement age.

This would strengthen Social Security and keep present benefits for the elderly and people who are near retirement age.

But Liberal Democrats and RINOs are totally against giving ECONOMIC POWER to the people.

@baldman40, I definitely agree with you here. In fact me and my husband were just talking about that very same thing. My concern is for those who have already paid into the system and will also be affected by this. This is what I have a serious issue with.

@maddox2u2......for people who have already paid into the system.....set a cut off age and prorate the benefits.
