I think people just got tired of celebrating a race that has so obvioulsy fallin from glory, no blacks i talked to ever wanted it, or even care...im one of em...and how many times per lifetime do we need to hear about who invented peanut butter?

No hon, the African enslaved that were brought here came with their religions. Part of the rouse devised by the Europeans through the Vatican for practicing slavery was to Christianize the "heathens." The enslaved, were forced to adopt Christianity in hopes of more humane treatment. Those captured Africans since sent throughout Central and South America had a better chance of hiding their traditional religion being Catholicism. Slavery in North America was particularly brutal through practices of inbreeding, rapes (male and female), and the breaking up families.

Although hidden, many held on to their Ancestral religions. Unlike Catholicism with its many Saints, the Christian religion made Indigenous practices more difficult to conceal. Particularly, after the Haitian Revolution (1791?1804) when slave masters and overseers were instructed on what to look for from "Voodoo" practitioners. Dolls, fetishes and drums or drumming by the enslaved (some of which I'm sure, had no idea why they were doing it) was outlawed throughout the colonies.

To this day, unbeknownst to most of us from our hairstyles, dress, music, dance, and worship (aspects of this is when Christians speak in Tongues or receive the "spirit" or Holy Ghost). We considered ourselves and all creation the embodiment of the religion, not unlike the other major religions around the world like Hinduism and Buddhism, with one supreme deity or Creator and many Angels (in terms of Christianity) or Orisha (in terms of the Yoruba).

Although it's good that they will be introduced to modern audiences, I'm ambivalent about the temptation to nationalize them.

Rightfully so, because anytime it's done, it's due to careful planning and execution to benefit the white race and disadvantage the black race...

Trust.. anything they get their hands when it comes to black portrayal, involvement is done with that specific goal in mind..

And nope, It's not a conspiracy theory..

Indeed, or worse. Like what they did to the Nordic God, Heimdall in the movie Thor, when played by a Black man, Idris Elba. Now, according to Nordic lore, Heimdall has the ability to "hear sap running through trees, and the tiniest plant growing in the heart of the hidden hills, and see and hear anything occurring in Asgard or on Earth. Look across time, as well as space, and in one instance seeing the far-off approach of an invading party and correctly predicting that they were still a full two days away from Asgard, and the ability to see what has yet to come".

All these powers including superhuman strength, stamina, speed, agility and durability, like all Asgardians, and is said to be stronger and more durable than all but a few Asgardians, such as Odin and Thor. Yet, in the movie, he is literally portrayed as a Hebrew slave at best, at worse, a dump ox.



Particularly, in the scene where Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth), commands Heimdall to ?? open the bifrost!!" While Heimdall is struggling to break free after being encased in ice.

After watching it, I was shaken to the point of almost rationalizing how grateful I should be that the scene didn't require a whip or a rectal suppository manually inserted.

I have no doubt that Mr. Elba shook his head in disbelief after seeing the final cut of the scene.

That's why we must not fall for the Okie-doke coming from these misguided handkerchief head hanging Negroes who simply want to go along to get along by taking us with them. And if there is such a thing as a WhitePlanet, that's where most of them need to go, because in my view, their talents and insights are greatly being under served.
