I appreciate both sides of the debate b/c both are valid.

Also, it will give some of the kids that are failing every single class for whatever reason to learn responsibility that the family is a unit and bs actions will affect the household income. The kids needs to learn responsiblity and accountability, also.

it's not that simple or cut n dry. the underlying causes must be addressed BEFORE initiating 'austerity'. One never knows what an impoverished family is going through. Cut them a break and offer programs to help in areas needed.

Good point it is never cut and dry, every situation is different.Besides I would be inclined to believe he was really
concerned if he mentioned a penalty for the working parents who neglect their childs education

NO......but I would like to see welfare checks TIED to voting....

If you are receiving any type of Public Assistance, you should NOT be allow to vote in any election until you are completely off the government dole for at least one year prior to elections.

I dont have a problem with that as long as they arent working and paying taxes.Do your homework tho,I think that would hurt the Republican vote more than the Democrat vote

ummm yeah no vote huhn? lol
with the unemployment rate (especially for blacks and other minorities), especially in the state of florida for ex-felons, the vote of anything BUT the 'so-called' majority would be wiped off the map.

basically, if you broke, or paid your debt to society for some crime that incurred a prison (not jail) term, you and your 'opinion' and your voice doesn't count.

that is ludicris and obsurb to the point of being .... short-sighted.

It should not be a crime to be broke penalized by being ostracized by the voting system.

There are way too many people that recieve medi care/caid due to major illnesses or lack of funds to pay the outrageous cost of being sick.

Yep, let's be cold and cruel and self-serving ... that'll show 'em
