Not surprised at all. Sad but it is life. I have often said I dont get the need for a lot of people to say they are mixed when we all know that over 90% of blacks in the western hemisphere are mixed with something. Just a fact of life. Therefore no need to walk around saying I am mixed unless your are the direct product of such a union like Alicia Keys, Barack Obama, and Halle Berry or others like them.
Even worse is that I notice the people most likely to indicate that they are mixed are people of darker complexion that sometimes show no mixture in looks. It is also the same thing I notice among dark skinned black men being the most likely to want a light skinned or Hispanic woman.
The converse has also been observed where light skinned blacks are more likely to embrace their blackness, with many of those men tending to date dark skinned women.
I dont like people that are not comfortable with their skin color at all, and I make it a point not to deal with anyone in my personal life that feels the need to say they are biracial. Hell I do not care if father is black, and mother is white. If you mention biracial to me you are automatically written off.

@mak011, I feel exactly the way you do about this biracial crap. The other thing that makes me sick is black women making these asians rich buying their hair. I had a student once tell me that she wished that she had "light skin". I couldn't believe I was hearing that. (You know she got a black history lesson.)
