Most of Tommys hits are from Whites who love to see a Black man say what they really want to say about Blacks. He is not the first nor will he be the last Black to hate on his on race.On this subject he happens to be correct, Alexander was guilty of shooting at her husband and should have been sentenced to jail for that the assault which took place while she was out on bond. The only injustice here was the sentence didn't fit the crime.I never thought I would agree with this idiot but after reading the court transcripts instead of the mis-information that a lot of media outlets, especially Black one, it was easy to see she was not only guilty but she is a vindictive and manipulating liar .Btw Tommy Zimmerman didn't use SYG at his trial.

I agree with you for the most part but I don't think either one of us knows for sure who's tommy audience or fans are.We'll just agree to disagree on that point. Though, he does get a lot of attention and I think it's because he's provocative.

What Tommy does in this instance is point out the mainstreams media bias and "black medias"bias against men in general and particularly black men/boys. The question is, why is that? And what affect does this media bias have on black women/girls in particular? How does this media bias affect how black men view each other? Remember how the media dealt with the upper cut bus driver?What about the cashier who worked at McDonalds and was attacked by two dykes? The list goes on and on.

@vh47

I almost forgot, how does this kind of media bias affect black male/female relationships?

Its simple why they do it, divide and conquer. They have also manage to instill fear and loathe of our young Black brothers by their own peers.I m not to going put 100 percent of the blame on the media ,they along with their parents or Momma has to take some as well.I feel bad sometimes when I hear about some stupid happening or a shooting has occurred and my first thought is a brother did it. The sad dayum thing is I am usually right. The latest way to scare of fear of young Blacks is the knockout game, this was the last straw for me,One kid has already been shot playing it and I know if I am armed and it happens to me the kids wont be going to jail.I still have hope that they will come around ,but its fading fast when I see them laughing about playing tis game or a gangbanger justifying their lifestyle and no remorse for innocents bystanders who are losing their lives because of their actions.I think the worst is that the young brothers who are on the right tract are becoming victims of this bias just because they are Black and they dress the same way as the offenders and thats wrong. As far male/female relationship goes theres a lot less respect for Black women then it was when I was young and these young guys don't have a problem telling you they would whoop a womens azz if they messed over them or laid their hands on them. I see they don't have a problem making babies and walkin off either, so overall the bias had been very damaging to our race .I almost how the hip-hop culture is making economic slaves out of youth too.

You're right it's not a hundred percent of the medias fault and we have to take some responsibility for our actions. The way I've done that is by understanding, like you said that the media, "black"and otherwise is only interested in sensationalist, divisive, misrepresentation of "information." A case in point the "knock out game." You mentioned the kid who admitted to "playing"the knockout game, view this video that challenges the "knock out game" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =o8qHVS4kOOg, or just google the "knock out game"myth, some more "reputable"sources have covered this. Plus those "knock out clips"played are over a year old. The point here is we have to acknowledge that the media has a lot more power in our lives than we think. Living in York, this kind of media coverage influences city policy where police presence is like an occupying force in black and brown neighborhoods and it's not warranted. I don't watch T.V., I used to and when I did I was severely misinformed about a lot of things.

The media has always through hook and crook went out of its way to show Blacks as a race to fear. Tariq was right ,this just more propaganda to support the notion that's Whites should be armed and ready to shoot any Black that looks suspicious. The media has always found a way to put a Black face on ignorance, theft, government welfare fraud ,gangbanging and now this. I don't think the knockout game is a myth,I do think it is not as widespread as the media says and I am sure some of the latest videos I have seen are staged. That being said ,I ask why we as Black would do something that could cost one of young Black males their lives. The success Zimmerman and white men have had in getting off for shooting and killing Blacks will lead to more white on blacks shooting using that famous line "I feared for my life' and the jury .which has been brainwashed by the media ,will agree with them.I would not be surprised to eventually find out that ALEC was behind theses additional videos that keep popping up.This lends support to SYG and Stop and Frisk.Social media has done their part in hurting our image too by allowed these staged videos and other erroneous s. Here in Chicago they focused on the knockout game, eventho none of the footage is from Chicago ,and flash mob robberies. Why they did it I don't know ,the fear factor for young black was high enough due to all of the gang murders. I remember being across from the public aid office in 2005 ABC7 s was there shooting footage. There had been a tornado and flooding in the South Suburbs that summer and people were lined up for emergency assistance. the line had two whites for every Black.I got that evening and turned on the s to see what they were reporting on and the footage they used only showed Blacks in line, see the middle of the line I saw there were about twenty Black together and they focused in on just them.The following days in other s outlet comment section on the story they were mainly about Black welfare queens lining up to scam the tax payers out of more money. This kind of bias reporting has been going on for decades and none of Black leaders have called out the media for it.I know we as Black need to stop giving them much negative shyt to report on,but dayum now you have to manufacture s to continue this crusade to portray Blacks as lazy ,trashy, violent negroes.I can think that the White establishment is worried about whats going to happen when they become the minority. Sad thing the dummies forgot is the Hispanics are going to be in the majority so why fear us?The Koch Brothers funded organization like Alec should never be allowed to use the media to influence city,county,and state policy ,but they have and they will continue unless people turned off the brainwash machine called TV.Whether you are a Libertarian,Tea Partier,Democrat or Republican if you use your time wisely on the internet you find the lies all of them telling .Now once armed with the truth ,you have the power to change the media.The media needs viewer or they lose their advertising revenue,no advertising revenue will result in change or going off the air.

T.V. , radio and s papers are in trouble, people are cutting back big time on those forms of media and using the internet instead for information. That's because, people are getting hip to the propaganda that T.V., radio, and s papers are spewing.

This is why people like Tariq and even Tommy are growing an audience. Even Tommy with his very confrontational and crass style, which unfortunately has to be done to get attention, did some basic journalism on this Marissa Alexander case and presented what was, and what really happened. The mainstream and "black"media on the other hand was on some other sh!t, they have an agenda, and it a'int the truth.

There are two things that the media is doing. One, like you said, at every corner associates every thing negative with black people. Secondly, it encourages women to have this sense of entitlement, and that they can do no wrong. Both are deadly recipes and have been for black folks, and in many ways black women have gotten a pass. The solution? Go along with the trend, stop watching T.V. utilize the internet more, use a variety of sources for information, including those that might upset you, or challenge your views.

I cut the cord three years ago when I asked myself why I paying for television that either pissed me off or boring the heck out of me. The internet is full of entertainment, s and sources of valuable information if used wisely. The internet also has its sampling of ignorance and propaganda too .I also have Roku which has decent content and and original programming.I have also found out Im not alone when it comes to cutting the cord,but many more will have to follow before any change will occur ,
