Texas:religious state workers can deny licenses to same-sex couples




Texas state attorney general Ken Paxton (pictured) has said that county clerks and judges can refuse to grant licenses or marry gay couples if the object on religious grounds-Paxton's comments echoed those Friday of Gov. Greg Abbott who said Texans can't be forced by the court ruling to act contrary to their religious beliefs.

'Despite the Supreme Court's rulings, Texans' fundamental right to religious liberty remains protected,' Abbott said Friday.

These jobs have absolutely nothing to do with religion. They are wrong for injecting the religious beliefs into whether or not they choose to issue marriage licenses to gay couple. If they don't want to do it, they should be fired and replaced with people who will issue marriage licenses to gay couples, which is now the law of the land. Some die-hard homophobes will never give up. Thank God they are a dying breed soon to become extinct.
