Ethiopia: UN in deal to fight global poverty
A key sticking point in the negotiations had been a demand by the G77 developing countries for a greater say in reforming international taxation.
The current system is unfair and allows multinational corporations to shift profits out of their countries into low-tax regimes.
Over months of negotiations, the UK and other rich countries have been vigorously blocking proposals for an international tax body to tackle tax dodging by big companies that...cost poorer countries $212 billion a year.
