It wasn't until a local show at Florida Memorial University, that Nove was given the opportunity to share his story. James Jackson, CEO and President of Slick Salt Entertainment happened to be in the audience and was blown away by Nove's performance. As a result, in November of 2000 Nove was added to the Slick Salt roster. Nove has the skills to stimulate an audience of any demographic. Not only can he rock the stage and make a club bounce; but also, he has the commercial appeal that will have young teenage girls putting his poster on their walls. The proficient rapper refuses to place himself inside a genre bracket; "My fan is the general listener." With his open-mind and versatile characteristics he writes his own songs for no specific category of musical composition. Nove is well-rounded when it is his turn in the booth and is definitely no stranger to the studio. To date, he has worked with artists such as Scarface and Bun-B; as well as producers like Tone Capone and John Bido. He relates his songs to a "verbal journal of his personal life," and plans to deliver non-stop hits to his fans every time the microphone is on. Life for this featured artist is an enduring process of motivation and perseverance. With ceased dreams of playing in the NFL as a child, Nove quickly recognized that his calling was indeed in the music industry. With 10 years in this business, Nove's verdict to stay on this career path came from some of hip-hop's most significant icons. With influences like Tupac Shakur, Russell Simmons, and Sean "Diddy" Combs, Nove plans to continue with the same consistency of his craft like these successful idols have done. Aside from the adrenaline rush when he hits the stage, the screaming fans, and witnessing girls singing along to his lyrics; the main thing that keeps him going is the promise he made to his son, who sadly passed due to SIDS back in 2001.
