The trickery has already started here in Georgia. Although people DID have 45 days to early vote...It is now apparent that there were not enough polling places available to adequately serve all the early voters. This combined with voter machine downtimes, understaffed polling places and limited polling places. Many will be forced to go on Nov. 4th, since the Secreatry of State Karen Handel has refused to even extend polling hours ON November the 4th, which I find highly suspicious as poll gaps show Obama in a neck and neck battle with McCain. She has given the power(blame) to the counties knowing the decision will require more time than there is left. And since no counties have uttered a sound(at least none that we know of) polls will close at the scheduled times regardless of the numbers of people that have sat around anbd waitied until November the 4th to be cruelly surprised that they maybe disenfranchised from the voting process. And eventhough other states such as Florida, which has extended their times and days with no problems. Georgia has no response other than to "ask Florida what they did". To paraphrase Karen Handel " People have been given 45 days to early vote and I believe that Georgia's early voting system has adequately served its citizens....Georgia also has one of the most liberal early voting (laws)systems in the country." I believe that this is just another attempt of the good ole South to exercise its racist, slave-ish views. I only hope that Georgia has changed at least ONE of its many racist ways since the demographics here have been dramatically affected by the diverse influx of new residents. Whether any of these new people will make the difference this country needs is up to them....
From a voter frustrated with the ugliness of "good ole' boy backwoods" politics in the dirty South
