personal messageLife is like a bank account. We make deposits or withdrawals, but in the end we have only what we've put in to the account. So I want to deposit as many good memories as I can! So what exactly does that mean? Live life to the fullest. Enjoy this extremely short existence as much as you can. We Black folks are a scary lot. We fear anything that does not happen on our block. Therefore we do not travel too far from our comfortable surroundings. Nor do we take part in activities, relationships or even explore our own thought processes that go beyond what we know to be safe. Essentially we are not only afraid of death, we are afraid to live. Not enough of us have figured that out yet. The key to making great "life deposits" is letting go of the fear that grounds us. So - How much are you grounded by your fear? When you are on your deathbed, whether that is tomorrow or 50 years from now, how much will you regret not experiencing? God gave us a big park to play in and a ginormous universe to marvel at. Explore as much of it as you can. Life is not just about clothes, cars and music. Those are not the things you will wish you had in your bank account at the end. Start making deposits that mean something now. Enjoy this life because you only get to live this one once! :-) Check out my pages and sign my guestbook to let me know you came by! ---------- (((( :-) )))) ---------- Now sit back and listen to my varied musical tastes. I love my hip-hop but I like to mix it up every now and then. A little Dirty Dirty South and West Coast with some Detroit techno and Hawaiian/Jamaican/New Zealand Ska with some acid jazz and house... yeah, my stew pot is deep! So get yo party on, stroke on, or smoke on! LOL!

I, for one, am sick and tired of hearing all the doom and gloom BS about pork from Black people. Troy Davis AftermathPosted
First, I am not sure Troy Davis was innocent. I do know however that he was railroaded by the "justice system". Second, he is not the only person sentenced to death unjustly by any means. Third, although the system is hugely unbalanced for people of color, the larger issue seems to be an equal opportunity offender. Why Make Life So Hard?Posted
Its interesting how people insist on making their existence here on this plane SOOO difficult. Life does not have to be hard. In fact, it is only as hard as we make it for ourselves. Most problems have very simple, logical solutions. It is our personal issues that obscure those solutions. Our individual fears, denials, procrastinations and emotional baggage get in the way of making decisions and moving on. |
