Jonathan's Poem

I know that God makes no mistakes.

That it was his will to bring you home.

But that still doesn't mean we don't miss you here.

We cry when we hear your name sometimes but in the end we smile.

We smile because we see your laughter and your spirit through your sister.

We smile because we see the man that your father,

mother and grandparents raised.

We smile because we see your pride in your grandparents.

And sometimes if we do shed a tear, it's not because we are sad.

It's because we know the man that God brought into this world.

How you changed every soul you touched.

You were greater than we knew

and for that reason God called you back again.

I was told that people are brought into our lives like seasons.

And now that your work here is done and your season is over,

We say Thank You not goodbye.

Thank You for everything you gave to us.

For everything you may have taught us.

For every soul you changed.

For every moment we had with you. Thank You.

We do not mourn your passing but we celebrate your season here with us.

For we all know that we will see you again

And our season will begin anew.
