Description

Welcome to the National Association for Blind & Visually Impaired African Americans. (NABVIAA) Our mission is to end social exclusion for people who are blind or with low vision, specifically African Americans. By working to help them gain equal rights in society. Which means helping society understand their needs, and respect those rights. Although any new programs and practices implemented to benefit an individual will ultimately benefit all blind or visually impaired individuals. The NABVIAA links information and resources providing training and opportunities for people affected by blindness, and making sure that education does not discriminate against or exclude individuals who are blind or visually impaired. We would like to meet Blind & Visually Impaired African Americans and those that would like to support the cause for unity & diversity.

We feel it is important to keep all members informed on current issues and happenings. We act as an advocate voice for issues concerning blindness and visual impairment. When we receive information NABVIAA will pass it on so that we all have access to the information and can determine appropriate action if any is to be taken. We encourage us all to be informed, active members. Let's talk via our new BP discussion group. Look forward to some lively discussions.
