I AM A MODEL
I was born on August the 4th 1988 in a little town named Zvishavane in Zimbabwe. I am the youngest out of two. My brother is three years older than me. I was raised by my grandparents and lived only with them till the age of 9; my mother was in London studying for her law degree. My brother lived in a different town with my two cousins and aunt. I had always been rough and a tomboy. Seeing as I never had another person my age around I always thought I was one of the elder people. I had always been entered for modeling shows and participating in fashion activities.
I moved to live in London with my mother and brother when I was 9years old. I started primary school and hated it. I was bullied and picked on because I was different in terms of looks and personality. My color and accent played a huge part in everything. Even the way I wore my hair was seem as a big joke. For that last year and a half I learnt there I found it a living hell and just wanted to go back to Zimbabwe.
Secondary school was a bit better although I encountered problems there too. Due to the anger I had built up from moving to a new place and experiencing the harshness of a new place in the end I had become very angry. I attended anger management because in my defense I wasn?t understood. I was seen as a violent young girl. I gained a lot of weight when I was in secondary school because of low self-esteem. I wanted to be accepted and never really believed I was. After the first year I managed to become accepted by people and built a big friendship base.
I finally started wanted to start being more lady like. It became a must for me. As the years have gone by I have managed to channel myself to be the person I want to be. I began participating in events in London, working in the retail business to get a bigger understanding for fashion. I also did some photoshoots. My measurements are 40-32-42 and I am 5ft 8 inches. I moved to America in October 2006, first going to Texas in order to visit family and arriving in Atlanta in December of 2006. My mother, my brother and I moved here to start a new life. Having moved to a new place is hard but shall get through it. My next step would be to show all those that doubted me that yes I am different but they will never be half the person I am, because I am stronger and wiser. Being a girl of a bigger size, I don?t think of myself as at a disadvantage, but I see myself as beautiful and comfortable in my own skin. I have lost a lot of weight to get to where I am now and I wouldn?t change it for the world.
I am a respectable, motivated young lady and I strive for nothing but the best. Nothing comes easy and that?s why I will never give up. Being from so many different places I have learnt so many skills and I have managed to mould myself into what I want to be. I know I can be a positive role model to others.
