Roderick 'Sir Rod' Patterson, better known as aka The Ambassador of
The ATL.
In 1999, Sir Rod was approached by two of So So Defs' Founders,
Michael Maulden and CEO Jermaine Dupri, to become their Creative
Service Director. In this role Sir Rod would be solely responsible
for all promotional material and print media. Sir Rod worked
extremely close with Maulden and Dupri along with other superstars
such as Da Brat and Jagged Edge.
In 2001, Sir Rod started a school touring company entitled
Diversity Showcase Assemblies. The groups toured from 2001-2003 and
performed for over 2 million students across the United States. Sir
Rod became known as the P Diddy of So So def. There were unsigned
artists that would sleep on the doorsteps of So So def for the
opportunity to meet with Sir Rod and to be a part of the school
tour.
In 2003, Sir Rod's brainchild was born, Starmakers Entertainment
Group. Starmakers is an artist management and an A&R/Artist
development company. Starmakers has worked closely with and
developed such artist as B5 of Bad Boy Recording, Pretty Ricky and
the Mavericks, and Ashley ? an upcoming release on Bad Boy
Recording.
Sir Rod's relationship with hundreds of record labels and even more
unsigned artist inspired him to start the sister company of
Starmakers Entertainment entitled Demoline. Demoline
(www.demoline.net) brings together unsigned artist and industry
professionals online.
Sir Rod's incredible talent for artist development and management
along with his keen eye for finding new talent are the components
that will propel him to the top in the music industry. Sir Rod is
truly becoming the Clive Davis and Berry Gordy of his time.
