GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!!
We are overjoyed by the results of the historic election. It has given us a new sense of hope, direction and optimism.
However, I personally feel the need to take a moment to reach out to my people and say that now is not the time to be so caught up in the euphoria of what is obviously such an awe inspiring time in our lives. If anything, this new chapter in our country's history is a call to re-energize, showcase our resolve and take the initiative in making our own personal commitment to making the legacy of our 44th president "ours".
What I mean more specifically, although my thoughts are not limited to what I'm stating presently, is that we have to increase our efforts to bring about a greater sense of community and responsibility to ourselves and those around us. Our continued and, in many ways, glorified acts of ignorance and self destruction must somehow be curbed. We have to make
even more of a concerned effort, regardless if it's on an individual scale or as part of a local community based group, to offer guidance and support to our youth; as they now have a very visible example to the fact (because as of Nov. 4, 2008 it is no longer just a concept) that our children can truly grow up to be WHOMEVER they want to be in this society without regard to race, ethnic background or economic and social status.
Although this seems like a monumental task, it is certainly not
impossible. For those of you who may not belong to any sort of
community based organization, I would strongly encourage you to join one. If not, efforts can be made on an individual basis with the young members of your family, a friend's family or even youth you don't know personally. It's been my experience that many of these youngsters are hungry for not only the knowledge that can be offered from the unique perspective of our individual life experiences, but they also want that encouraging word that is open, honest and offers a sense of hope for their futures.
I pray that this message not only finds you all in a most reinvigorated spirit, but also serves as an inspirational catalyst in your personal efforts to contribute to the historic pending presidency of Mr. Barack H. Obama. Thank you.
OK FOLKS, I`M TAKING A MOMENT TO GET ON MY OWN PERSONAL SOAPBOX. I AM OFFICIALLY SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT MEN AND WOMEN DYING IN THE MIDDLE EAST BECAUSE THEY WERE SENT OVER THERE BASED UPON A BUNCH OF LIES. AMERICA HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN ATTEMPTING TO BRING ABOUT CHANGE IN REGIMES AROUND THE WORLD FOR YEARS. FROM LAMUMBA, CASTRO AND VIETNAM IN THE 60`S, TO IDI AMIN AND THE SHAH OF IRAN IN THE 70`S, TO EUROPEAN LEADERS AND AFGHANASTAN IN THE 80`S (YES PEOPLE - WE HELPED PUT BIN LADEN IN POWER 20 YEARS AGO), TO THE NONSENSE THAT`S GOING ON TODAY; WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD A HAND IN STIRRING THE POT. BUT AT NO POINT HAS IT COST SO MANY DOLLARS AND SO MANY LIVES. THIS IS REALLY RIDICULOUS. I WONDER HOW QUICK HE WOULD HAVE BEEN TO SEND HIS KIDS TO WAR IF HE WERE IN SUCH A POSITION. I GUESS WE`LL NEVER KNOW, BUT I`M SICK OF PEOPLE DYING ON WHAT SEEMS TO BE A DAILY BASIS!!!!!
COOL CONVERSATION, NETWORKING AND FELLOWSHIP ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. HOWEVER, PLEASE KEEP IN MIND AND RESPECT THAT I AM NOT LOOKING FOR LOVE, NOR AM I INTERESTED IN ANYONE`S DRAMA/NEGATIVITY.
I LOVE BOWLING. I`M ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR ANY OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARPEN MY SKILLS.
CT IS WHERE MY HOUSE IS LOCATED, BUT BROOKLYN IS MY HOME!!!!!!!
PEACE & BLESSINGS BP - ENJOY YOUR VIST.
