I'm originally from Ann Arbor, my ENTIRE family is from Detroit, so
that's where I spent a lot of time growing up. Im a military brat,
so I finished high school in san diego and then moved back to ann
arbor like an idiot to get my bachelors degree at U of M.
Unfortunately for me (and many others), there are no jobs in MI
right now. So I had to get out. By the grace of God I was able to
get my foot in the door working finance in the defense sector. So
as of summer 07, I finally made it out of Ann Arbor. Now I live in
the beach cities area of LA and life is good....wel, better at any
rate. All my friends are scattered across the nation like roaches
in a well-lit room so I travel quite a bit. Still working on my
social life here in LA though. Right now all I do is work, lift
weights, and sleep....its sad...but temporary. Other than that I do
all the regular stuff people my age do...except make babies. The
current plan is to hit these GMAT books I bought so I can go back
to school for my MBA and be done with it before I'm 30. When I
think of waking up to be at a job and sitting at a desk all day
regardless of workload and doing it until I'm 60 - it almost makes
me want to cry. Not here to hook up, just make connections since I
sit at a desk all day. Have a coke and a smile...

I suppose I should be impressed with the way the California Governor, President Bush, and FEMA have all cooperated to bring aid to the victims of the recent wildfires here. But I cant help but be reminded of all the Katrina coverage. How is it that FEMA has already pledged aid, has blankets, supplies, and food on the way as well as the national guard to cover 100,000 acres of scored land when 2 years ago it took them 5 days to get water to New Orleans. The Jury...

The Jury is still out on Black Planet. I originally joined to kill time at my J.O.B. in Michigan, but I feel the site is at cross purposes as far as connecting/uplifting our people. (ie. allowing you to post a picture of your %#&@$! but letting you look for a job as well). Obviously I am pro-Black, but since I'm from the suburbs I keep a diverse group of friends.
