Hello and welcome to my page. For whatever reasons you decided to stop by, I hope you enjoy your time in my world.
For the sake of creativity and individualism (which is apparently lacking on BP) I choose to refrain from slang terminology, "selling" myself using the popular adjectives (i.e. honest, caring, trustworthy, open-minded), and cliche phrases that are used so widely on Blackplanet.
Don`t mistake my words as an insult towards any group of people. As a college graduate, I am inclined to use proper English. Besides, slang terminology lends itself to subjective interpretation whereas proper English allows a person to express his/herself better.
Moving on...
I am a college graduate with two degress: Accounting and Business Administration (that`s right, two degrees). I am a teacher, also.But most importantly, I AM A MOTHER (beautiful baby girl...3 years old)...I am currently working on Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
One of my greatest passions is educating children. There are so many children, especially in inner cities, who are overlooked and "pushed" through the school system who can barely add or subtract. I`ve worked with such kids and when you get them interested in learning and in believing in themselves, you can really see the joy in them (almost like they have forgotten about the problems they face outside of the classroom). So to all the teachers out there that are putting in the extra hours and extra care despite such little pay, I appreciate and admire you. For the teachers just collecting a pay check, open your eyes and your hearts.....you are more than just a teacher of math, english and science, you`re a teacher of life.
I`m going to wrap this up but before I do I want to leave you with my favorite quote:
