I am a single mother raising my daughter. I love poetry, music carriage rides, walks on the beach, shopping, cooking, and working on the computer. I am a psycologist major in the middle of obtaining my Masters. I am a strong independent women trying to succeed in life the best way I can, so my daughter can look up to me and not no one else. A strong role model should start at home first. I tell my daughter any thing is possible, and anything can be done. I let her know that there are very strong black men as well as strong black women. She can now see at the age of 7 that staying in the house doing nothing is not where she would like to be. I am a women with a head on my shoulder trying to be around positive people, so my out look in life can also be positive. Obama changed the world, but it takes all of us to change people out look about black men and women. We survived with Martin Luther King Jr, and Malcom X. We rose with Obama. We are not in the shadows any more life as we know it is changing for the best.
